Between Japan(sewer roaches, really big) and Florida (palmetto roaches, flying), I've probably set the global roach population back a coupla K. Got a pellet gun pistol to deal with the menace now. Getting to be a pretty damn good shot with it to.

I got a computer in one time that had hard drive problems. Upon opening the case I saw dust everywhere. Was afraid to breathe. I pulled the HDD and set it on my desk after a few min a noticed a Silverfish walk out of the bottom of the drive, then another and a third.
I had to take the computer outside and Clean it out then I called the Exterminator and had him spray my office and the office the computer came from. I also left a note for the maid to vacuum better under her desk.

Another time I had the same thing with a dead Power Supply and upon opening it it had a ton of dead roaches. No live ones.
We had a computer come in once from a tobacco warehouse. Couldn't figure out what the strange smell coming from the computer was until someone saw mouse poop on the motherboard. Ewwwwwwwwwwww....

hmm some guy brought a computer in he got cheap at an auction sale...that was back in november, it is STILL sitting in the back room? guess he didn't want it back too badly huh?

Oh man, I worked at Sony for a while. We had problems with people who would bring in stereo systems that didn't work. Low and behold they didn't work cuz they were filled with roaches. Anyway, I once got to read to a client an update from a tech that said "Could not repair unit due to massive roach infestation. Millions of living and dead roaches inside." Needless to say the client wasn't happy.
We just hired an exterminator. In fact, he just left.
The computer came in Tuesday. We saw two bugs on Tuesday.
Wednesday we saw two big roaches.
Thurday we saw four roaches.
Friday we saw four roaches.
Monday I killed a dozen.
Tuesday I killed about eight, some were babies.
Wednesday I killed about five small ones.
Thursday I only killed two babies.
Today I haven't seen any. Hopefully I won't see any more.

It was truly disgusting. I walked out and told my boss that he couldn't pay me enough to go back.
He didn't believe me until the next guy he sent out came back with the same story. I still have nightmares.
I made the mistake this weekend of renting "Joe's Apartment". EEEEEWWWW. Brought back all those icky memories!

Yesterday I was bored and decided to browse http://www.computerpranks.com and came across Vermin, which puts cockroaches on your desktop that you can sqish(hey, you can even change the guts color), for some reason it reminded me of this thread.

On monday I saw three live roaches. All three were very lethargic. They walked away. They were easy kills.
Today I saw four roaches. Two of them were lethargic, but two seemed pretty frisky. I killed them all.
I assume the poison is working. I've been finding a lot of dead roaches. I asume the slow roaches are in the process of dying. I'm glad the exterminator gave them the "long and slow death" formula.
Supposedly it takes a week for them all to die off. I hope they're all gone by Friday.
Well, back when I was in High School, We had cockroaches 12 inches long that ran across the floor in the cafeteria. Needless to say, when I could, I left campus to eat lunch.

I live in Texas and they can get big and bad down here. I had a nieghbor who was ver dirty people, never had roaches till they came along and we moved. The roaches seemed to have moved with us, I found some stuff from combat that comes in an epoxy looking tube. You put it in all your cracks and corners and it kills them permanantly. Since I used that stuff they are all gone and never ever had that problem again. In fact it looks like a big shot.
