Im glad someone besides me remembers that little issue back in the 80's with tipper. Anything that has to do with tipper is enough to make me vote for anyone but gore, plus that other thing about gore locking the public land which would put a hamper on the lumber industry. hmmm, plastic toilet paper anyone....

First off, the office of governor in the Great State of Texas has very limited powers. Why?!? Because the people of Texas don't trust the government! They did away with most of his powers about a hundred years ago...so he is mostly just a figurehead. As for the roads in Texas, they are probably some of the best roads in the entire world...believe me, I've been around the world several times and I know. Except, of course, for Houston...Houston's always been known as a hell-hole...long before Bush came around.
So, it's a big vote for Bush here...I like the way he talks...Gore reminds me of the society freaks in high school.

You obviously have not driven around north texas, I have been to south texas and the roads are somewhat better, But up here in North Texas (Dallas Area) The roads are so screwed up. Pot holes everywhere, construction that has been going on for years, etc. And as for the extent of Bush's power as governor- How can you explain this. Bush gives a stay of execution to a man who was convicted of murder 15 or so years ago. Back when DNA evidence was only a dream. Anyways, Bush grants the stay of execution because the inmate (who has been maintaining his innocence since he was convicted) asks for the evidence that was collected from the scene of the crime to be tested for DNA. Well to make a long story short, Bush went ahead and let the execution happen before the evidence was completely diagnosed. The poor guy ended being innocent. And he was put to death before anyone could save him.

Tell me this, If a man with no power as a Governor of a state can grant a stay of execution for a person on death row, would he also not have the power to prevent an innocent mans death?

Just a piece of my mind.

I vote for intel, it's much more stable and reliable than Gore or Bush.

While the Gore bus speed may be a bit faster, and Bush has more "cache"... Intel has my vote. Especially if it's going to be in a server.

But where's the fun in that? Please keep reading this post because it looks like you didn't read the rest of my last post since you only replied to the first sentence of it. I replied to your last post because what I could read from your whole post was that you wanted this one canceled and before a moderator decided to take what you said into account I wanted to reply back with the other side of the argument to try to keep this topic alive. I'm not trying to get an attitude with you but many people have replied back to this topic so maybe it should stay open. Are we as techs only allowed to talk computers and nothing else, I beg to differ.

I would vote for Bush/republican for at least 3 reasons/issues: Gun Control Polocies, Pro Life, and a strong National Defence. Don't forget a vote for Bush brings a former Secretary of Defence and possibly Colin Powell.
In addition if the VERY LIBERAL media folks had to go 25 years in the past to dig up dirt on Bush, I would say his record for the last 20 years or so would have to be pretty clean. With Gore you only have to go back to the last time he moved his lips to find his last lie.

It strikes me as pretty funny that we all work in a highly technical field that requires exemplary skills in applied logic (congratulations to each one of you for proving you have a brain) and the great dearth of same when arguing politics...

Bush. Actually, I already mailed in my absentee ballot... it's just that I don't like the stance the dems have on ANY of the issues this time, and the reublicans seem to at least have their plans in order, if not the candidate. I also like Cheney a lot more than Lieberman...

I didn't want the thread cancelled, I was just stating my opinon, that I hate talking politics, mostly because I have no understanding of the topic. I cannot get interested in politics, even though I know I should be....I didn't want to start an argument or anything, just stating my opinion!!
