One person actually swapped their PC with a Trainee's herself, without telling us, and then complained because the software that she needed wasn't installed on the new PC.

We have computers made by Digital (company that Compaq bought out) They are Pentium 166mhz with 32MB Ram made in 1996 and we have about 250 of them and I am the only IT person with no backup.
And people wonder why they crash when they have 2 Excel spreadsheets, their email, and Dialer sessions up. We do have a few of those crappy Compaq Ipaqs that have celerons in them, but they suck worse that the 166s. The pride and joys here are 3 Dell Optiplexes with 1ghz cpus in them. Of course everyone wants one of them.

Thing is we still use 150 mhz - p4 1.7ghz
We have about 15 150 mhz in use, 80 300mhz and 500 mhz in use. we have about 35 850 mhz in use and now we just got in 25 p4 1.7 ghz and another 15 coming in.
Most of these people only use there systems for email and complain cause there co-worker has a faster computer.

The new black EVOs do create quite a stir!

We still have a few de-comissioned Digital venturis FX-2's (P166MHz) and 5133's (P133MHz) floating around. We use them for when people forget to order new PC's in on time etc. We've also got some Prioris 5000 and 6000 servers still in use, as well as a couple of Digital VAX 4000-600 VMS servers (those servers have had less down time in 6 years than the newer UNIX servers bought to replace them have had in 6 months).
I've got a digital PC 3000 sitting on my desk that I use for burning CD's.
They're getting old now, but the FX-2's are one of the few machines that I know of that used SDRAM as standard back when they were new. We use them for when people ask us for a spare PC when they forget to order a new one for a new employee. Since none of our newer systems will run on these, it makes them appreciate the need to be more efficient with ordering new PC's.
