The best LAN (non-violent) game is the Age of Kings series. Sure there are battles and a little bloodshed, but it can be called justified education since it teaches history.

I would have to agree that a "non-violent" LAN game is more of an opinion. Our LAN group thrives on Counter Strike, Diablo II, and Q3 arena. We have also in the past spent hours and hours on some greats such as Need for Speed 2 SE, Worms 2, Ignition, Sarcraft, AOE, and other RTS Classics.
Not to sound too preachy, but I dont think the game content in the problem. It is the context it is taken in. I mean really, when I saw the coyote fall off a cliff with a small umbrella, it didnt make me want to give it a whirl.

Could you possibly offer a parental-release slip to the kids? So you can have the violent games, just not for those whose parents haven't signed the paper https://forums.windrivers.com/ I know those things always worked for me... heehee!

Would Age of Empires be considered violent?
Another game like Midtown Madness is REVOLT. Pretty cool RC Car racing game you can with with up to 8 on a LAN.

Try nerf arena blast
Today we had our first computer club without Quake or Unreal, the kids were upset they could no longer play them, but they seemed to have fun with the games I currently have for them. Today we played Sprint Car Racing, up to ten players per game, and we also played NHL 2001, up to eight players per game. I'm going to try and get nerf arena for next week, also Age of Empires, the students suggested these two. They also seem to like playing roller coaster tycoon and sim city, not LAN games, but they enjoy playing them.
Thanks for all the replies.
There is always that good old Violent classic HEARTS??????

Maybe you should just skip the computers and play tiddly-winks that should be ok with the wilted lettuce eating, tree hugging, save the freakin' whales, can't mind their own business, "if you don't live like I do you are going to have to change to suit me", bastiches that have become such a nuissance lately.

Damn Windows 3.1 runs fast on a P3 800.
Listen, I've been playing games like Unreal tournament, rainbow six, etc for years and i'm normal. Games don't make kids violent and i'll kill anyone who says otherwise!

Where you been man? These PITA's have been around for freakin years, I should know I used to live near several of them. you ever shoot bottle rockets at someones house in the rain? Pretty fun stuff. Also if you take all of the blood out of UT and turn off mature taunts it isn't really violent. I mean how bad could it be you get blowed up and come right back...
