It is amazing how easily they cut you... So far no disabling injuries to me, though I have lost several pounds of flesh to the usual stuff mentioned here. Like pulling the power supply cable out of reluctant hdds and cdds (cheese grated knuckles is a good description) and my favorite, reaching in the case, looking away, and nailing some piece of aluminum dead on... had several gashes dead on to my thumb- split open for 1/4 inch or more. And those take forever to heal. My worst though, was working on my stereo. ummmm... Bridged a capacitor. Went through my chest: hand with capacitor to hand toughing case... I have no idea how long it lasted- probs no more than 10-15 seconds, but it seemed to go on forever...
Was able to finally throw it out of my hands. All my fingers were completely scraped and perforated b/c the current made me clamp onto the circuit board... so plenty of flesh went out with the stereo. Closest I've been to buying the big one. And no, you don't retain enough electricity to shock your cat after being hit. Darnit, I tried.

My hands look like the hands of a bare-fist boxer or something. I absolutely cannot put my hand into a case without cutting it. That's why I carry a small first-aid kit in my toolbag. (-;

One time, I was onsite, at a restauraunt I had once worked at... Turns out someone was having problems with the Pizza Dough Roller(kinda like a wringer washer)... Me, having
A.) worked there before, and
B.) being a computer guy, they asked me to look at it. End result, I ended up running my hand through the roller, with it on a setting smaller than my hand, and it crushed my hand, caused nerve damage, and left a pretty good sized scar between my index and middle fingers, where the blood gushed out from my hand exploding. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2004/08/1.gif NOT a good day for me...

Ok. I wanted to stay away from this on, (too many bad memories) but you've piqued my intrest with the stupid injuries.

I have had all kinds of cuts and nicks from computers, none bad enough to leave a scar. My worst computer related injury was the broken Knee Cap I got replacing a power suply. (Chair moved while reaching for the new one on the top shelf of the store room)

My worst sports injury was three broken ribs from playing golf. (Got tossed off the cart)

I think you all forgot the stupidest injury of them all (we've all done it). back of the head to the underneath on the desk. Nothing in the world pisses me off worse than that. Not the pain just the pure stupidity of it.

Hunh? Everything's going dark....I don't remember a thing......

I usually laugh about those, but a few weeks back I posted about the time I was climbing around in dark rafters cabling an office in a warehouse. Sweating like a pig, shirtless, dirty, I hit my head on the corner of a steel "I" beam. Funny, those things just don't move at all. When I dropped the cable down to my buddy below, he asked if I was OK. I said, sure, why? He said, because the cable is covered with blood.

When I came down I must've looked like a nightmare from a GWAR show. Blood, dirt, sweat, ick. I still have the scar on my head which shows up every summer when I get a buzz-cut.

When removing a metal tab from a case, it went not at all, then with great rapidity. I ended up with a cut the length of my fingernail down both sides of the nail...

Really deep cuts, huge pieces of skin/tissue flapping ....

The bang-head-on-bottom-of-desk happens occasionally.

When upgrading a 486, I accidently put some of the cache in backwards... After a few seconds of the computer not booting, I pressed down on the chips to make sure they were seated well.... Ahh, the lovely smell of burning flesh...

when i was in 5th or 6th grade, i was jumping up and down on a pogo stick, and thought it needed to be oiled. remember those oil cans with the bell bottom and the long pointy oil dispenser, like in the wizard of oz?

well, after oiling the pogo stick i put the can on the ground, and started praticing jumping w/out hands. first time i fell off, ouch, that hurt. second time i fell off, hmm, my left hand feels kind of funny, let me see here- OH CR@P!!!!

parents rushed me to the hospital, it was a sunday, waited like an hour and a half for the hand surgeon to arrive, then went for surgury.

funny thing is that i was able to use the hand like normal the next day, except for some stiffness that gradually went away in a month. didn't need therapy or anything

I was going to be a procrastinator, I just never got around to it.

I have so many scars on the backs of my hands from cheap cases my friends all think I knife fight on the weekends.

Worst cut I ever got from a computer was on an oldie with a long-*** Diamond VESA card in it. I was removing the card and put my right index finger under the monitor connector. I pried up and the card came loose all right - and the razor-sharp case cutout slit the end of my finger wide open.

I was takeing out a keyboard fuse with a sodering Iron and use at as a prie bar and slip and hit me in the head. The smell of burned skin does not smell good

When your CPU cooling fan is spinning at over 5000RPM DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGER IN IT!

This may sound stupid but it really hurts!!!

I forgot to mention that I am talking about the metal fans, not plastic.

I want to meet the guy that sits in Japan and China, filing the edges of cheep cases you a knife edge!! I don't think i have one knuckle that doesn't have a scar
