Bravo, Papa Smurf!!! ;)
New Jersey purposes,
1) It allows New York and PA to travel between each other on a fast turnpike instead of having to go though the mountains.
2) If a sunami hit new jersey would take the brunt and Philly would be the new shore.
3) Devloped an easy system, instead of asking Jersey girls where they live you ask which exit
4) Provides a safe haven for people eternaly stuck in the 80's
5) Like to think of themselfs as a state but its just a mater of time before PA absorbes them
6) Created a skanky nasty smell filthy version of Vegas and called it Alantic City, the only reason to go there is if the bars close in Philly and you still need to drink you can go there.
7) Gave the proof to other states that you don't need mountains to become a state
8) So close to having New York but that Jersey spirt took over so they created Camden and Newark.
Just yell "EAT ATTACK!!!" and I go into hyper turbo steriod injected porkbeast-slaying mode.
Cheers Papa Smurf... like to think I would do the same thing if faced with it.
Gotta get me one of those black belt thingys.
when people want to fight me i'll start acting like im handycap and then they leave me alone.
j/k hehehehe
i try not to let words get to me, last fight real fight i got into was in grammer, im kool with everyone.
i did fight with my friend when i was drunk but we almost always fight when we are drunk, that was just playing around even though i did wake up the next day with a bunch of bruses , but so did he :D

Way to be man. That is the way I try to do things. Only if a person is very deserving of my rage, do they ever get what they deserve.
The last punch I threw was 35 years ago. I'd be like Papa Smurf if someone was being attacked but fortunately I haven't needed to....Make love, not war....

So then ignore it. If you ignore it it goes away faster and dies a quick death. Just don't post to it if you think it's pointless.
By the way I understand that by posting to a topic to decry pointless topics is rather ironic (Is that the right word?).

I believe that is the correct usage. See for yourself.
i·ron·ic (-rnk) also i·ron·i·cal (-rn-kl)
adj.
1. Characterized by or constituting irony.
2. Given to the use of irony. See Synonyms at sarcastic.
3. Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended: madness, an ironic fate for such a clear thinker.

1 year for me - too much Jagermiester (also - too much maj jung - I spelled it wrong but it's a legal pep pill) and while trying to stop a fight between a guy and my friend the one guy just pushed all the wrong buttons on me for no reason. I always thought it was like in the movies - when you hit them they fall. In reality you hit them in the face and they get like "Ow - damn!" and get dizzy, but don't really fall over. Then it's becomes a big wrestling match and afterwards your hand you slugged them with hurts a lot.
Fighting is stupid.
Bravo Papa Smurf.
I almost got in a few fights down at the Pub recently with some drunk rednecks who wanted to start trouble...
Funny thing is, when they see the look in my eyes and realize I haven't been drinking all night they seem to find something else to occupy their attention...
It's just as well, I really don't like fighting..
Well well,
I was edited because of personal attack. I guess you have to do what is deemed fit but I really did not consider that a personal attack. My take on that is "If the shoe fits......." Hell, I've been called that many times and rightfully so in thier eyes. Sometimes I might even consider being called that a "badge of honor". Guess everyones different and you have to take everything and everyone in account, so OK, understood. BTW-Thought I was "pushing the envelope" with the topic but thought it may turn out to be an interesting thread so worth a shot. But was not trying to see what I can get away with :) .
As far as the other comment to show respect, blah blah blah, did alot for this community blah blah blah. I consider myself a respectful person but I also believe that you get what you give. If I am respected I shall return the same, if I am disrepected I have no problem returning it (although as I mentioned I don't believe I have even done that because Just tellin it like it is). And I have no problem returning it no matter who you are. ;)
I am not trying to make excuses cause I owe that to noone just trying to explain a different perspective.
Papa Smurf mega mega kudos to you. The world needs good samaritans. Wonder if things might've been different if people like you were all aboard the planes that hit the WTC.
I agree that violence is not always the answer however sometimes is necessary. That is rather unfortunate but it just a way of life.
PS
Cletus, your show was on yesterday. "Back you go to wait for a woman with less discrimating taste."

"Respect Begets Respect, remember this well."
It is good to see that I am not the only one that feels this way!

Exactly, unless you live in New Jersey or Canada though.

1) It allows New York and PA to travel between each other on a fast turnpike instead of having to go though the mountains. But why would you want to go to PA in the first place? For the Poconos? Yeah, those 400ft vertical drops are really scary.
2) If a sunami hit new jersey would take the brunt and Philly would be the new shore. Philly needs all the help it could get. The shore would be even dirtier than it is now.
3) Devloped an easy system, instead of asking Jersey girls where they live you ask which exit I guess it is the same as asking Philly guys how long they've been in prison, or what their favorite weapon to conceal is.
4) Provides a safe haven for people eternaly stuck in the 80's PA provides a place for people not cool enough to live in NYC, but yet too boring to live in Jersey.
5) Like to think of themselfs as a state but its just a mater of time before PA absorbes them I'll say it again. PA needs all the help it can get. UPenn ain't a real school.
6) Created a skanky nasty smell filthy version of Vegas and called it Alantic City, the only reason to go there is if the bars close in Philly and you still need to drink you can go there. And Atlantic City is STILL better than hanging out at the Liberty Bell.
7) Gave the proof to other states that you don't need mountains to become a state PA has shown that you don't need good schools, normal people or competant leadership to be a state.
8) So close to having New York but that Jersey spirt took over so they created Camden and Newark. Both cities are still nicer and cleaner than Philly
