Going antique shopping with the g/f tomorrow. I know it isn't hightech but we usually come away with something cool.
I guess my last gadget was an optical mouse. Right now I am saving for a DVD player and a good MP3 player that will hold at least 2 hours of music for working out with. Anybody know of good ones for a decent price that hold a decent amount of music?
Hey, why don't you check out the link in my above post. I got my MP3 player for that same purpose, and it is really cool. With 128 native and 256 expanded, it'll hold the amount of music that you want. check it out.
As for DVD players I like the Panasonic RP-61, but it was too busy for me. I bought the JVC XV-S65GD for $150ish. I would have gotten the JVC XV-SA75GD but you're paying $50 extra bucks for DVD audio, something that has virtually no software support right now.
I am very interested in this MP3 player. My big problem is the price of the players. For 256 megs of space you are paying nearly $300. Heck for a 32meg MP3 player you pay over 100 dollars for what maybe 6 to 8 songs depending on length. The only way I could possibly afford it would be credit card(rather than debit). Thanks for the link though, I saved it incase I get some of my money problems straightened out soon.
I didn't even notice, but the price went up. I got mine for $190 then I got a 128meg SanDisk FlashMedia card for $50 at CompUsa. All told I paid about $250, spread out over 2 weeks though, which does make it easier to swallow. Then again I spent $5k on my TV, I love my gadgets.
MODDING SUPPLIES!!!

cleetus,
have you seen the rio volt or AVC soul players? They are portable CD/MP3 players. I have the AVC soul. I rip all the albums I have from any particular artist and burn them as 160KB mp3 on one CD. I get almost 10 hours of music per CD. I only carry around 10CDs in my car but I have almost 100hours of music on those 10 cds combined. I got the AVC soul for only $119 and that was quite a while ago.
Here's a <a href="http://www.jandr.com/JRProductPage.process?RestartFlow=t&Merchant_Id=1& Section_Id=1139&pcount=&Product_Id=2693885&Sort=Mf r_Name,Current_Price,Product_Name" target="_blank">LINK </a> to Mine, and I love it. The 1280x1024 is a bit difficult to get used to, but overall I highly recommend this monitor....

You told me about that, and I was assuming the price would be more.
That's a great "gadget"!
Can't you pump it up to 1600x1200? That's what I have on my 19" CRT and it looks great.
The price is what sold me (and was 50$ cheaper when I ordered it). It's a refurb, but has a 1 yr warranty, As for higher rez, I haven't tried, my ASUS v7700 deluxe should support it, if it won't, I'll be looking for a new vid card as soon as I get this paid off......

I thought of that, but when you're working out a CD based player is just too big, you need something small that you can tuck in your pocket and forget it, that won't skip while you run, and isn't too heavy. You can't beat CDs for price and capacity though.

Your Asus <a href="http://www.asus.com/vga/agpv7700d/overview.htm" target="_blank">GTS 7700</a> can do it without a hitch.
If it's the <a href="http://www.asus.com/vga/agpv7700ti/overview.htm" target="_blank">Ti 7700</a>, don't even worry about it ;)
I got that fancy new 40X Plextor CD-RW drive a couple weeks ago. That is the neatest thing I've purchased in quite some time. :-)
