Cards...lots of cards. Everytime she comes to my place I try to have a card waiting. When I pick her up for a date, there's a card on her car seat.
& Poetry....been writing for years. I write personal ones for her and email them....
Cook her dinner....a recipe you make up (try it yourself first if you have any doubts).
Weich all I can say is very very nice. One of these days I will try something like that but I gotta wait till I me and a very special friend of mine get together. I don't know if this counts but this morning she was sick and she leaves for work early about 2 hours before I have to get up and she lives a little ways from me, so I brought her something that would help her feel better right as she woke up I was knocking on the door.

I am very romantic, one time I had her make me breakfast, I thought that was really nice of me becuase usually I make her go drive thru and bring it back to me. I was feeling especially romantic. I also told her she could wait till I left until she did the dishes.
I write fiction but can't for the life of me get my head around poetry. I love it, but am not emotional - don't know if that is the right word - enough to write it. I have to let the Romantic movement do my talking for me. Seems to do the trick though, as long as you explain!! ;)Quote:

A little poetry (written by me), a little wine and dine, the typical romantic stuff. I've always been a romantic at heart, it's just a matter of whether my current girlfriend likes it or not. Sometimes I have to hold back, sometimes not.

Okay, this migh sound harsh, but I try not to be overly romantic. I do nice things, roses every once in a while. The reason why is when you do something extremely romantic such as the things Weich has done, and she turns around and cheats on you or gives you the boot anyway, it hurts that much more. At least I won't end up regretting any of the trivial romantic things I've done. Maybe I'm with the wrong girl.....actually I know I'm with the wrong girl, but until I find the right one, I'll always be cautious.

well now for my story..
althought most of you out did me ...
for her birthday...
I rented this cabin in a forest, went there a day before (with the excuse I need to work..) got everything planed: a limo a resevation for dinner in a town near by and many roses. I called her and told her I'm gonna have to stay the weekend (that was cruel) and that I want her to come and stay with me..
well she was picked up by the limo, and driven to the cabin ( I mad a trail with roses from where the limo parked to the cabin, and left a bootle of champaign at the door step.. - you can figure out the rest.. :)
and I had one more suprise, after the dinner I let her know we have a flight to Italy on Monday morning.

Bullsh!t you're not emotional!!!!!! I read your topics when the town and your ex were giving you and Jen he!! Get out of denial and quit making excuses!!! I let a good woman, the mother of my two boys get away after 17 good years because I "couldn't share my emotions." Well I learned, and funny thing, over 500 pages of poetry came pouring out when I finally got honest with myself and gave myself permission to bare my soul to paper.....Funny, trying to protect their relationships, people keep a leash on their feelings not knowing that they're screwing up the one thing they want to keep. Another hard lesson learned....It's better to open up and take the risk of being hurt than to protect one's heart and thereby limiting the possibility that stands before you.....Long ago I learned that the wounds I bore for baring my soul, although painful in their infliction were as nothing compared to the joys I've experienced embracing the moment without reservation....

Mogul, I really don't worry about being romantic, even if you break up with a girl, you still have the memory of a wonderful evening. So even if you hate your ex now, in 20 years that hate will be gone and your memory will be there to stay.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Jen and showing my feelings - as my earlier post on this topic, and some of my own topics have shown. I think that I just used the wrong word in this context. I am a very emotional person and am often told that I wear my heart on my sleeve, which can be a disadvantage. Sharing your feelings all of the time can be as damaging as not sharing them at all.Quote:
