Those two games alone whould keep me happy for a very long time :D I also have the original Play Station, and still have all my games which works out great with the PS2. I have that DVD update and control and the only problem I can see with the DVD is everyonce and a while I get a very small flicker across the screen, But everything else is very good. It is diffenecly the best choice out there. ;) </strong><hr></blockquote>
Gotta call ya on that one there. GT2 is the best game ever. I find 3 to be sadly lacking in cars though the new tracks are nice. They royally hosed the physics engine which I find makes the game almost unplayable without using the formula 1 racers.
Otherwise the PS2 is where it's at.

I'd like to see how you'd play a DVD on an IBM PS/2. :p </strong><hr></blockquote>
I'm sure someone out there's working on it...

Yes, you are right... GT2 had I think over 500 cars? The thing I don't like about GT3 is that there aren't any used cars, makes it kinda hard to start out. But if I had to chose between GT2 and GT3 A-spec, I would choose the later. You are right about the cars though. :D

GT3 = no Pontiac. No Trans Am = not cool.
I still prefer GT2.
-
Amen. I heard there were going to be Aussie cars in it, and the only one that made it, was the XR8 race car. Gayness Maximus.
They even removed my favourite racing view.. bastards.

Undoubtedly the best 2D fighter I've ever played. Uses the Capcom 6 button layout as opposed to the 4 button SNK layout like the first one did. You can choose from 6 different fighting styles, or create your own, which is a very nice feature.
Tons of modes, like 3 on 3, 1 on 1, survival, etc. My only gripe is that there's no reall consistent artwork in the game - Keny, Ryu & Akuma are all drawn in the Street Fighter 3 styles, while the bulk of the Capcom characters have an SF Alpha-like appearance. Most of the SNK characters seem to have been re-drawn from scratch, which is cool.
I'm kinda disappointed that some characters didn't make it in...like no Andy Bogard, Birdie, Gen, Rose and tons of other Street Figther Alpha characters are missing.
But overall, it's great. Making a badass team of Akuma, Geese Howard & Bison rules! :D

Excellent!
Im a big Ken fan, myself. :D
If only they would port some of the big Arcade brawlers over, Marvel Super Heros VS Street Fighter, and so on ... *sigh*

Hah, you and your silly street fighter stuff. Tekken Tag is the way to go. That game is really nice.
Go yoshimitsu!
-
To each his own. I've just always been more of a fan of Capcom's 2D fighters. Nothing against Tekken, it's the best of the 3D fighters, but I prefer SF's combo system...specificly SFA2&3.
And yeah, EC...when I go into straight up one on ones, Ken is my boy. Or if I do a ration match, I always position Ken as my lead off guy.
Shinryuken!

Yeah.. Tekken Tag has kept me ammused for a few weeks, but its no SF.
Im looking forward to the new Virtua Fighter game, looks rather funky indeed.
Oh yeah, GTA3 is still banned down here. The OFLC board has told Take2 they need to recode it.. what a pack of wankers.

Yea, I was laughing my arse off!! What was that clip from that old Arcade game?? I remember the game well, but can't remember the name. Still think a nakid Raiden was pretty hilarous. hehehehe. I'm currently going through my second run through the game, with most gameshark codes enabled. I usually will beat the game once, then start playing with codes.
I'm using the armor, stealth, and bandana. How do you get these items without cheating? BTW, Stealth is really cool. I like to light up some C4 kill a dozen guards, then prevent anyone from seeing me. They go nuts.

Akuma and Bison are over-powered, especially Akuma. Never liked them, but I bet it is easy to make a kick-*** team when you take all of the over-powered, cheap characters and put them together.
Anyway, are you using the standard dual shock or an arcade stick? I cannot do any real 6 button fighting or precision combos using the shoulder buttons and a d-pad. I also haven't been able to find and really solid arcade sticks. Al the ones I have seen are these weak, clicky, cheap plastic dealies. I'm not spending money on that.
As for the GT3/GT2 thingie, GT2 on the Dreamcast kicks butt. You get massively improved graphics, plus all of the GT2 cars, physics and fun that seems to have been left out of GT3. The GT2 Bleemcast still has to work within the limitations of the GT2 engine, but all of the textures are sharper and everything is much cleaner. I don't even play my GT3 anymore.
Finally, the DVD player. . .it is crap. Any new $150+ player will beat the pants off of it in terms of picture quality and features. I am not a videophile or anything, but even the $250 DVD player I got 3 years ago displays a significantly better picture than the PS2. I think the word that best describes the picture quality of the PS2 is craptastic.

The armor is somewhere in the plant, second floor of Strut F or G if I remember correctly. I dunno, I never really worried too much with it.
Stealth (tanker) = collect 60 dog tags in the tanker stage.
Stealth (big shell) = collect 120 dog tags in the plant.
Bandana (tanker) = collect 50 dog tags in the tanker.
Infinite ammo wig (plant) = collect 100 dog tags in the plant stage.
I like doing the simple things...walking right up in front of a soldier with stealth on, then hold them up. "decloack" in front of them, with something like the Stinger or grenade launcher select, and watch them piss themselves (literally). Some soldiers even cry when they see a Stinger launcher locked on to them. :D
Then I like to make human time bombs by planting C4 on a soldier with stealth on. Let him patrol his route then as he gets close to another sentry - BOOM!! Hehehe sometimes if you do it on a catwalk, they all go flying over the railing and fall to their doom. :D
Oh yeah, BTW, that clip from that old game is the original Metal Gear for NES/MSX.

*sigh* I see you have obviously never played C vs. SNK 2, as Bison/Akuma are both majorly toned down. Geese is actually the cheapest link on my team, Bison & Akuma have several weaknesses if you know how to properly expose them. Why do I feel like we've had this discussion before?

Sadly, I'm still on the plain old dual shock. It works well enough for me, not as good as a stick, but games come before peripherals, and there's quite a few more games I must have first.
