I dont know what to tell you since I dont know what you listen to. What I can recommend is that you dont bring too much of one thing music wise, variety is the spice!
if your gonna hit any national parks I would recommend back packs. some of the trails to the places you go might be a bit long.

Well, Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" is almost mandatory.
Nothing quite like tooling down the highway with the windows down and some Jimi Hendrix blaring over the stereo. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
Or if you have a sports car, some Jan & Dean, Beach Boys, or Dick Dale would be good.
If you want an album that'll keep you going for a long time, the Who's "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia" or Pink Floyd's "The Wall" are some good long ones. ELO's "Time" or "Eldorado" and Boston's "Third Stage" work pretty well too, though they are a bit more sedate.
If you want something fun and entertaining, you can't go wrong with Weird Al or one of the Dr. Demento albums. Spike Jones, Tom Lehrer, and older They Might Be Giants stuff (Apollo 18 especially) are good choices too, depending on your tastes.
On the other hand, if you're looking for something more sedate to keep you from killing other drivers, "Best of Bee Gees" Vols 1 & 2, the Byrd's "Fifth Dimension", or just about anything by Simon & Garfunkle are a good choice. (Good ol' S&G kept me from going insane when I had to completely rebuild my server at 4 a.m. a couple years ago)
For a very long trip, consider The Hobbit and/or the Lord of the Rings radio adaptations. It's about 15 hours long for the two of them!
Music - Iron Maiden for the road.
As to computers - when on trip/vacation i never use them.

I'd have to agree with the Captain on this one. Any Pink Floyd album would be great. There are plenty of good songs to put you to sleep, or to keep you interested. You can sit there and try to decypher some lyrics, or even better, play the "what drug was he on when he came up with this" game. That's one of my favs.Quote:
