'“Apple customers may be educated, but our customers are smart enough to have chosen Gateway, which offers the best value,” said Brad Williams, a spokesman for the PC maker.'
Damned if you do, damned if you do the other.

just how much does Jobs think that cute Apple logo is worth anyway? in my area it is an hour drive to even buy one. no one around here works on them so service is another matter. why go out of your way when there is a PC shop on almost every block of Anytown, USA?

humm wierd, my mac cost $2000 less than a pc wierd so there more?? check again my laptop was $2000, while the laptop I was going to get was $4000 hummm
Imacs are about $700
new imac about $1300
not much diffrence than buying a really good system from dell or somewhere.
Another thing, mac has a great educational and developer plan. I got a educational discount which knocked off $300 from the sale price, I then got a developers discount of $200. So mY MAc was very ceap. I also upgraded the hard drive and memory in. 30 gb and 512mb pc100
Oh and there underpowered?? Well kinda
my 400 mhz powerbook g4 would spank my tbird 1.2ghz system.
Hardware on a mac mean nothing. Mac optimizes there software to run fast ont here ahrdware, thats why they havnt came out with 1.6 mhz 1.9 ghz etc... they really dont need it. Macs systems dont even need fans in it. Another thing I give mac credit for is there OS. Very nice clean and simple, but the most, powerful. Mac os X is the most powerful OS right now that I see. Its A unix OS with the mac gui. How nice is that, a unix freaks dream.
You can get there dual 1 ghz machine for $4000 yes thats alot but it sure scared amd and intel. Since that dual 1ghz system can apnk the 2.2 ghz system
dont get me wrong, I own 15 other pc machines. 1 sparc, and now this mac.
