yep me too! my kids have to wear them and then they tell me to put mine on half way through our journey.
So I can't vote on that poll.
Well Theres one place where I lack some brains.
I dont buckle up..
As stated in the previous post, use them even on short trips. Remember, the most dangerous mile is the one right in front of you.
Plus, it gives the cops one less reason to pull you over.
It's the law in Texas, front seats = you gotta wear 'em. Since my car only has two seats, it don't move unless everyones buckled up. By the same token, in Texas, you can ride a motorcycle without a helmet. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
I rarelly don't.
My reasons for wearing seatbelts(and everyone else in the car) are twofold.
1. They are required by law and they saved me and my wife's lives when I rolled my pickup in England(Swindon in Wiltshire)
2. Since I am in the military, if I get into an accident and it is determined that I was not wearing a seatbelt, the military will not cover my medical expenses or pay out on my life insurance(in the case of death).
Seatbelts save lives!
I totally understand that seatbelts saves lives. and all that stuff.
The one thing that I dont get is why not make a law that you are not to carry guns with you ever those kill. why not have a law where they never let child molesters outof prison ever why not just kill them ,They kill ,they hurt it can save lives. Why not make it a law that you are not to run while carring a knife.
That would save lives. Why not make it a law that sky diving without a chute is illegal That would save lives.
That women who bare children then abondon them and make them go thu hell homeless and a orphan who take their own lives illegal that would save lives..
Did I just ramble on about all the stuff that is just common sense and should someone be smart enough they will do the right thing.
Yes.
But Laws that were made to protect us are not always enforced. With such a seatbelt law , I think was just another attempt at making a pullover a lot easier and justified and making a extra buck.
I see nothing wrong with people who wear their seatbelts ,its for saftey issues.
I know the horrors that can happen when I dont put the strap around my body. Thats my insanity that I have to deal with.
Seatbelts here and properly fastened too i might add, I have a 3 inch scar on my nose where i had the shoulder belt behind me and my face hit the dashboard when i was like 5 or 6.
When i get into the car, the seatbelt always goes on, sometimes if i'm just using Armor-All for the insides (a good habit gone bad) :) Just like locking the door when i get out of the car, its a reflex.

And you end up locking your keys in the car. I used to have this habit, I finally broke it after four years of not driving on a regular basis, and now using ONLY the keyless remote for my car to lock the doors. The bad part is, all my future cars will have to have a remote.
I always wear mine and it is up to everyone else in the car unless they are younger than me... then it's my decision (read, on).
Always wear my seat belt, i can't think of a reason not to; it's like smoking, when you smoke you are not 100% sure you are going to get cancer, but it's a heck of a lot higher.
