Well, LG is a Japanese company....or are they Taiwanian or something? Anyway, I haven't heard of Kenmore introducing anything like that yet.Quote:

I think I'll skip on the MultiMedia fridge, but I do like the idea of a washer and dryer in one unit.

why not just go out buy a nice fridge, cut a hole in it place a nice flat screen monitor (or lcd screen) in it. then have a spot in the freezer were you have your nice over clocked system, with no fans in it :)
You know, that would be suprisingly easy to do. Hmmmmmm.... It would be sweet just as a project. And you're right. No fans necessary. You could use one of those mini systems and stick it in the butter/eggs section. Cut out a bit of the door for the monitor, and run the power lines out the back. create a pullout drawer for the keyboard/mouse. Hey, that would be one heck of a mod!
I think it would be kinda usefull....
no more magenets on the fridge with reminders, a built in calander, and voice reminders. I would use it
MP3's and the Radio while cooking and cleaning too. Pretty nifty. You could even set IE's browser to default to a favorite recipe site, and catalog all of Grandmoms old recipies in Access. Then import that online. What a great resource. No more need for those wipe boards, you could keep all notes and messages in Word.Quote:

they key to this idea (and it's a good idea) actually working would be good voice recognition.Quote:

no keyboard no mouse
look at the fridge "Media player, Open, playlist, favorites"
"recipes, view, cookies, chocolate chip"
"web, search, chicken marsala"
very cool :D (if it all worked)

The key to your post. (and it's a good post) is if it actually posted one time instead of three. :D :D :D
Yes,I saw one on an old Hometime [American import DIY show] recently screened in the UK,seemed a good idea till you really thought it through.
You basically had to design your kitchen around the fridge so that you had a good view of the screen over your morning coffee.
Mind you it was a good excuse for a water cooled system even if a little on the big size.
