Yeah, it is true - most likely just only you were using older version of aflash... Use the latest one to be sure... If the problem persist - then it could be bad chip itself...
Checked the manual, it's true, there is no jumper so the BIOS may not have a flash option if you get that message. Your only option might be to remove the chip (if you can) and to program it using an external programmer (UV erasing might be needed as well prior to programming). Good luck!
we are a small shop so no uv programer here. Surprisingly I have done that before ( electronics degree ) but I haven't flashed very many bios chips with the utilities. Like I said never had much luck with it. So far though, i've never trashed the bios completely. ( /me knocks on wood, and throws salt over my shoulder and rubs my rabbits foot! :D )
Like I also said I did finally get the hard drive on the system like the customer wanted. I had to look up the alternate jumper setting on wd's page and use ezbios but it works!!
