Go to www.atitech.com and download the utility that will diagnose what card you have. You CAN get it working by installing the correct ATI drivers. The ones from Dell are obviously not good, I had the same issue with a Micron PC with the ATI onboard, it was a Celeron 600, so it's the same family. I don't remember the correct driver, but ATI does have an .exe file you can run, it will tell you the chipset. I had the exact same f*ckin' issue. No DirectX, no Micron drvers, you need the Generic ATI drivers.

My sincerest apologies for not updating this until now. Many other things came up and I totally forgot about this thread.

At this time I have left it to run on its 4 MB video.

The good news is sooner or later I should be able to get a fairly cheap 64 MB ATI PCI card that will do the job more than nicely. (and will hopefully work).

As to IRQ conflicts. Nope... The problem happened no matter which PCI slot I placed the card in.

Thanks once again for all the help and info. There have been some other good ideas and I will give them a try as soon as I possibly can.
