Good for them! Damn, i didn't know those things hit that hard...I would rather be hit with a racket ball...Quote:

Mmmmm...rat.
Tastes like chicken doncha know.
Of course, I'd much rather eat a beaver. :D
In the light of protests that I have seen and/or a personal witness I have to say that cops are usually out numbered 9 to 1 at a minimum. Law enforcement has the duty, without question, to contain and disburse a protest that is not properly contained. A perfect example are the recent protest in Austin, where police assumed that the protesters just wanted to voice how they felt. Police even rerouted traffic..well boys and girls, I guess the protest lust got to them and the felt that they had to stage a "sit-in" on one of major bridges that connects north and south Austin DURING RUSH HOUR. Then there is the L.A. riots, Chicago riots, S. Korean rights...etc.
Anyways, back to crowed control. We know we need it but how do you control it. Bullhorns do not work.. Water hoses? Ironically they can cause as much damage as rubber bullets (blown ear drums, broken bones, DROWNING..oddly enough). Anyways,.. they need to apply some sort of method that makes a protester to want to stop (and don't tell me that arresting them makes them want to stop). We could use chemical weapons, in the hopes that people are not allergic to them, to confuse and disorient the crowd....but the idea of 900 people that can't see and panic and start running Kinda goes against the idea of a peaceful break up.
You could shoot them with rubber bullets or bean bags to make them double over in pain and then arrest them....
Anyways, I have no sympathy for protesters that do not plan with the city and imply self-control
I don't care what you say, the girl didn't deserve to be hit like that. Pepper spray would have been much more humane, and less costly in terms of medical bills.
Police can and should keep order. Protesters have a right to protest, and if they get out of line the police have the right to use force to restrain them.
But they don't have the right to cause those kinds of wounds when other less drastic means are available.
:(
Ahhhh women bruise easily. Just ask Cleetus' sister.. i mean wife..Quote:

That was pretty harsh when they shot Johnny Knoxville with one of those beanbags in Jacka$$ the movie.Quote:

I didn't know Cleetus was married?
The problem with pepper spray is it is a short distance non leathel weapon and it can be unselective in its victims due to wind.It can also be ineffective in large open areas wereas baton rounds and beanbags are directional [to a point] and also make more of a statement.Quote:

And why is it she is a hippie?
Did she go to Woodstock? (I did). Is she a peace, love, dope kinda person? Maybe, but I doubt it.
I'm sorry if I take a bit of offense to the way you use the term "hippie", but being of that generation and the way I was raised in that culture I can't help it. She is not a hippie. She may be a tree-hugging anti-war yuppie, but she damm sure ain't a hippie
Thank you, that is all
Yep. I laughed all the way through the movie but I was not laughing with them. Kind of like Happiness... If you haven't seen Happiness I recommend you rent it... But, only if you have a strong ego.Quote:
