Hi to all,
first sorry for my english language because I'm italian !
I need to change the CMOS BATTERY for 5TF0/F2/F5 Motherboard (82430HX/P54C PCI Mainboard - SOYO COMPUTER CO., LTD.) , but also I don't find it ...
In this case the CMOS batteries is integrated with the real time clock ?
May you help me ?
Thank you in advantage.
Ivano
Welcome to WinDrivers Ivano. You are right about the CMOS battery, it's inside the Real Time Clock as shown here:
http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherbo...TF0-F2-F5.html
If you note the brand and type number shown on the top of it, there might be an equivalent still obtainable, but it's years since I've tried to find one.
If it's not in a socket, it would have to be unsoldered from the board. I once found a type you could dismantle and solder in a new lithium cell, but it wasn't easy to do, and most can't be opened.
Ciao,
thank you for the quickly answer (and for the interesting and useful link) !
On the top of the RTC component there is the label "ODIN OEC12C887A" , on the bottom the label "9635-A 07733.1".
The RCT component may be removed from the MB , baut can't be (appear...) opened.
In consideration that the MB it's old (1996) , what can I do ?
It's possibile to find and purchase a new RCT component within inside the cmos battery ? (and if yes , where ?)
Thank you again in advance.
Ivano
Wow ! I've found it in http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0028BJSGQ/...SIN=B0028BJSGQ
Have you any other suggestions ?
Ciao,
Ivano
It is a Dallas DS12887A you'll be looking for to replace the Odin. I guess you'll be able to find a European source, maybe even somewhere like:
