Of course its not in any article posted by JaxSon. It has only been on the news EVERY DAY since the price of oil skyrocketed.Quote:

Are you really trying to say that as gas has skyrocketed the past two months people have more disposable income?Quote:
But average wages have risen just 2.2 percent over the last 12 months, a sign that employers still have the upper hand in negotiating pay raises, according to economists.
Once again Bush has tried to pull the wool over your eyes. He hopes you just read what he wants, hear what he wants as he keeps taking from the middle class and giving it to the wealthy and the corporations.
I want back the economy I had before George Bush took office!
Arguing with you techs is like arguing with a broken record. You still don't agree that a .3 percent increase in someone's wage is still good news (as compared to it dropping). You still weasel out of every argument, you still can't fess up to the fact that you were WRONG about the economy, you still can't provide unbiased data for your arguments and you still grab at small little things when you have pontificated about job loss for the last 2 months. I mean, you can't even keep your Bush bashing out of the joke threads.
As for me, I grow weary of arguing with "Mr. Broken Record". Therefore, I am not going to post/argue anymore on your conspiracy theory, blind-hatred-for-Bush, good-news-for-America-is-bad-news-for-Democrats, we-have-a-weak-candidate-so-we-have-to-attack-Bush-nonstop, threads. I get more out of the "Friday" & new "Thurday" threads than arguing with you.
One less political person to argue with, I'm out of this political crap.
PS, when Bush is re-elected, I wonder if u will finally STFU.
It only got worse for Clinton, why should Bush get any better treatment?Quote:

I think that the whole Bush crew are hiding from debate. They post and run. Just like their candidate they cannot stand up to the facts.
I was actually sad for Bush in his last press conference.
He looked so inept.
O by the way. How can our economy be doing well when we need to borrow 350 billion a year?
Some of the programs Bush wants to cut next year so the wealthiest won't lose their tax cuts.
They include:
Education
Veterans Benefits
Healthcare
So how can the economy be doing well?
It isn't.

I'll give him credit for the tax cuts, but the other stuff? You cannot prove one way or another if Bush's solution was the reason for the current recovery. I'm guessing that it has more to do with the market bouncing back from the dot-com bubble bust, and the waning of the 9-11 FUD.
Home ownership is at an all time high mainly because of the almost ridiculously low interest rates. And that came from Alan Greenspan and the Federal Reserve, not Bush.
And as far as Techs SFTUing: he has as much right to campaign for his choice of president as JaxSon does with his. As long as they don't fall into personal attacks like they did in the recent past, I would just as soon hear what they both have to say.
JaxSon makes some good points: things are looking up. But, Techs also makes a good point in saying that one can only go up after hitting the bottom.
My $0.02, FWIW. YMMV.
Thanks for the idea, jaeger. "Mr. Broken Record" = ignored.

Cool. The Anti-Bush movement is growning day by day.

There...try to make that look bad.
I think the correct spelling for that is "groaning". :grin:Quote:

As for the economy...
Bush is not responsible for the recent job growth and, economic gains, stock market rebounds, or gas prices.
Any more than he was responsible when they all went south after the Y2k boom fizzled.
That's a market economy for you. Upswings, downswings.
Really not under any one man(or woman)'s control.
I don't mind hearing people debate issues our government(s) can, do, or should address but listening to all this about Bush being responsible for the economy is just silly. The last time there were sun spots, I lost cellular reception. Think I'll blame Bush. He's president, must be his fault.
Nope. You heard it right.Quote:

Link to follow. I just heard it on Msnbc so it might take a couple of hours to find it.
