Yeah, I heard that. They got a game out now that's not based on the movie, but going by the Chronicles of Riddick billing. It's supposed to have a really great story, and has been getting positive reviews, so I gotta check that out.

Plus, there's an animated short movie being released on DVD next week, which is supposed to be the bridge between Pitch Black & Chronicles. Peter Chung (Aeon Flux creator) did the animation for it, and it looks sweet.

If they play this right, Riddick could end up being a great franchise. I'm not a Vin Diesel fan but I loved Pitch Black, and Chronicles looks like it's going to kick major ***.

I don't go out to too many movies, but this one caught my eye in the previews.
"They couldn't leave bad enough alone"

That line got my attention.

But then King Kong vs Godzilla was so horribly bad that it is one of my favorite movies ever.

I think I will win either way, just by going to this one.
I don't believe there will be any middle ground either.

Just got back from seeing it. It's an awesome movie.

For those of you worried about Riddick being "superhuman" and taking on an entire army by himself, don't worry, it's nothing like that. The previews are misleading in that respect.

I don't want to say much more out of not wanting to spoil it, but I'll just say it's totally different from Pitch Black, Riddick's character is still well-written and great, and the ending wasn't what I was expecting, and I loved it.

Can't wait for a sequel.

I think he's bound to get a lot of mileage out of this franchise.

Plus, Cleetus doesn't like him, so he's already a superstar, right?

I guess I know what i'm doing tonight !!!

I spent over an hour last night trying to find a place that wasn't sold out of the special edition pitch black dvd (thanks for recommending that Cobra). But I finally found it at Tower Records and was definately worth a look. Plus it came with a free movie ticket for the big screen Riddick. I'll see it soon.

Saw it too. It's good. Very typical of action movies today with some interesting landscapes, scenes and effects, fairly brainless.

Didn't blow me away, but it was good enough to shell out the dough to see it.

Pitch Black reminded me of a cross between Alien and Lost in Space.

I love Pitch Black. I cant wait to see this movie. My friends went to see it today and said it was really good. I dunno when I'll have time to go see it though :( :p

Pitch Black - the book was most excellent too! :thumbs:

The book followed the exact same lines of the movie (Duh!), but it explored the characters more. All in all it's an excellent tie in to the movie.

Oh and the Chronicles of Riddick is on my Father's Day list for something to do! :thumbs2:

That was an awesome movie. I loved it, my friend loved it, and the GFs loved it. Problem is, the place was packed so we were like on the third row. Some of the fight/battle scenes just about gave me seizures from that close.

I guess that means I'll have to go again to catch it from farther back :D

Loved it. My wife and I love a good sci-fi flick and this fit the bill perfectly. Dark, edgy and they don't explain everything. I hate those films where they feel they have to explain everything so the people who can't connect the dots can get it too. Sci-fi is meant to be strange. I ought to "own" it!
