I really do feel sorry for the people who saved up for years to go over there for a 2 or 3 week family holiday and get hit by 2 hurricanes
Keep us informed (if you can) and good luck. I shall watch CNN with interest this weekend.
ps. get your footy predictions in before you lose your power OK? ;)
As of 10:30 local time, it looks like Tampa is going to get hit the worst possible way. It looks like the storm will pass us just off the coast, bringing 10-14 feet of storm surge. Just for reference, Macdill AFB and Central Command are only 5-6 feet above sea level. I'm 25 miles or so inland from the bay, 45 from the coast, so I shouldn't even see hurricane force winds. 5 to 8 inches of rain. Power is expected to go out.
You're still on-line, I'm impressed. Keep hanging in there. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gifQuote:

Good heads up Jaeger. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
Looks potentially worse here where Titchski and I live since the eye will be just off shore and all the winds and rain will be swirling right at us. Most of the islands here, as up near Jae are going to be subject to 10 foot srtorm surges which will "bury" many in water. I just talked to Mrs Titchski a while ago and was kindly invited over again, but me and many neighbors are going to be staying on. Being on the "high point" of my island several neighbors have parked their vehicles in my yard. Also, my ex and her three children are here now https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif being as they live in a trailor a bit inland. Trailors in this type weather are especially susceptible to the winds.
Right now the eye is 95 miles south of me, with most of the damage expected here between 2-7pm local time. Looking forward to the pics Jaeger. Hey Titchski, you going to get any pics? My ex has a camera phone so I might. Funny thing, being a tech, I have never owned a digital cam.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Thanks for the well wishes good people of WD.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif I expect the power to go out any time now, and have no idea how long the power will be out. So, keep them up to date Jae, and when it gets up there, either myself or Titchski will do the same.
sounds like you'll be safe, so that is cool.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif

Thanks Edball. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif I saw a pickup with Oklahome plates yesterday and though about you for some reason. An Indian on the plate huh?
PS
The left over locals are going over to Super Bob's house (remember him Gaz) for a hurricane party.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Sounds like someone is lost. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif We do get a lot of tornadoes but usually you know their path and can get out of the way. Kinda hard to do in a hurricane.Quote:

Be safe Trip and Jaeger
I'd love to see some shots, but stay safe first! (however if you would put yourself in danger for us at WD it would be appreciated). Video gets bonus points!Quote:
