I tried that, but it still won't work. I pretty sure im doing it right, but when I restart, the modem comes back. So then I went into the BIOs and disabled it, restarted, and it shoed another modem. I uninstalled that, rebooted, and it came back up there. The thing is, I don't have another modem installed.Quote:

Do you have access to another PC? Is it possible to put the card into another PC to determine if it is ok?
Can you actually see the card listed in your device manager without errors? It should say something like Audigy 2 ZS under Sound, video, game controllers. (Im not at my main pc so I could be wrong.. hehe) I will update when i get home.
I have the exact same card as you and an ASUS motherboard..and to my knowledge, you do not have a modem on that board unless you have one setup in a PCI slot. Maybe your thinking about your Network Card? (Im a bit confused with this one...)
What other devices do you have plugged into PCI slots? I would try removing all of them except the Sound Card and then see where your at there.
Next, you may have to FORCE the correct drivers accross. Simply deleting this 'modem' may not do anything. I have seen some rare cases where the OS simply misidentified the hardware and installed it as an improper device. If your OS is seeing your Soundcard as a 'modem', then you may have a registry issue. Try foring the SoundBlaster Drivers accross to that device.
I dont know if you can do this, but is it possible to post a pic of your device manager so we can see whats listed?!? Another set of eyes on the problem may just be what you need.
Let us know what you find out.. Hope this helps some.

Windows thinks it's installed ok
So look in control panel, for sound and audio - check in the properties for audio - what is the default playback and record devices?
Ok so we know that windows is seeing the card and it thinks its working properly. Yet you have no audio devices listed under sound and audio devices inthe control panel...
I think at this point I would make sure that you have the latest drivers for your card. Go into the Properties of your Audigy2 ZS and click on the driver tab, then click on update driver.
Use Windows Update to find new drivers..

Do you have the latest version of Direct X?
Do you have all Windows Updates installed on your system?
Personally I would make sure I had the latest drivers and Windows Update and see where I ended up from there... Hope this helps.
Note:
Make sure you have the THX settings set up correctly. You can tell the software what ports on the back of the card you are using for your speaker connections.

When I try to load some of the Creative programs, I get that error message. That was trying to load the Creative Mixer.

ive read where you tried to uninstall this 'modem' and moved the sound card to a different location. But have you tried to uninstall the soundcard itself?
If so did you try it and then reload it with the new drivers?
Im gonna keep digging a bit to see if I can find something else..

I would also consider upgrading to Service Pack 2.
Since both of these are big steps, and could screw your PC up if not performed correctly, you may consider taking it to a professional and having them atleast perfrom the BIOS flash if you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself. They could also help you with your Sound Card issue. OR..
If you try it yourself, make sure you get the correct BIOS and the utility ( Aflash V2.21 Utility to update the motherboard flash BIOS - (DOS) ) to flash it with. Theres a readme.txt with instructions on how to flash your BIOS.
Something else you may want to try if you already havent, when you uninstalled the sound card, did you uninstall all the software and drivers that came with it? Maybe you should completely remove everything including the hardware, reboot the PC.
Have you ever edited the Registry? Always make a backup FIRST!!!
Another step you might want to consider is to search the registry for any entry that refers to Modem #1 or Audigy 2 ZS after you have removed the hardware and software.
