It was the eve of my 18th, a colleagues 21st had passed 2 days previous, someone had got engaged and to top it all someone we knew had just announced their pregnancy....
So in the wisdom of the Elders, it was decided that we should celebrate above events with an evening of beer drinking and much merriment.... At the time I lived in Germany (dad in forces), so beer was mucho cheapo especially in the Belgie (Belgian bar) and Dutch bar (name I cannot remember anymore), 70 Pfgs (about 18pence at the time) for a half-pint of Stella....
Anyways, we thought we'd make an early start so I started work early and missed Breakfast, missed lunch because of one reason or another so grabbed a Mars Bar prior to the start of 1600 hrs. I got incredibly drunk, passed out in the Belgie and threw up (not sure if in that order or not), was woken up by my sister (HTF she was there I've no idea), had more beer, then woke up in a taxi on the way to my old address..... This I didn't realise until arriving at old address and finding keys no longer compatible.
A rather friendly former neighbour recognised me in my sorry state and called for another taxi and gave them my new address, I passed out and next thing I know I've woken up the next day in the cellar officially 18.... 2 days out of action unable to eat for best part of those 2 days. Apparently I tried to hit on one of our neighbours at 2am when she came out to find out what the commotion was all about, but I don't recall either the commotion or trying to hit on her (which could well have been a possibility, she was incredibly hot and fears of her 6ft squaddie hubby would have been negated by the beer)
She never said anything afterwards and I thought it best not to force the apology.... :thumbs2: It was a good lesson as I swore I would never drink again. Two weeks later though I had a 5 star.... but since then I have been wary of drink and never get hangovers... so either I'm still drunk from that night or now I'm sober
Just wonder if I will ever get back the lost memories of that night....
