If by "gipped" you mean "beaten up with bricks", then I would say you in about 5 minutes.Quote:

Seriously though, notice any difference in the actual picture quality?
"Before and after" screenchots?
Image quality is slightly better in some games, but I mainly bought the card so that Doom3 would run smoother, the 9800xt = teh gay....big time when it came to D3.
I also wanted to "future proof" myself with the new games coming out since they will likely be using the doom 3 engine
even HL2 and Unreal, STALKER? all great games
For Adept:Gipped is 'done out of' - skanked - diddled -fiddled -robbed !
I too would like to see 'before & after' shots, what extra can you turn on/see more than you'd get with a 9800xt ? - If we are only running this at 1024x768 one of them should be alright at high quality (well it ought to manage 60fps at that - how much do you want?) ..
The 9800XT ran choppy and sometimes dropped into the teens of FPS when playing Doom3 at high quality and 1024x768, now I can turn on 2x AA and leave 8x AF on and still never drop below the high 40's
Not to mention the Nvidia runs at 57C and the ATI ran at 72C at IDLE
How hot?
Anyway tweaks here for doom-mongers :D -Framerate and Visual Tweaks
Got the Aquamark3 Score....61,247!!!! JESUS CHRIST this thing screams!
YOU won't be wanting any tweaks then ! :D
I found some comparative scores, a p4 3gig with HT,512meg & a 5950 ultra scored a measley 48734 comparison - even I'll now let you feel pleased with yourself

Heres a rundown of my system, if anyone cares.
P4 3.0GHZ Prescott
Intel D875PBZ mobo
BFG 6800 Ultra OC (overclocked by 25mhz outta the box)
Enermax 460watt psu
120GB WD 8mb cache
80GB WD 8mb cache
40GB WD 2mb cache
120GB External Maxtor One Touch
Soundblaster Audigy 2
2GB Dual Channel DDR by Crucial
Asus TV Tuner with 10bit chip (opposed to the normal 8bit tv tuners)
Coolermaster Round IDE
Promise IDE Controller Card
Asus 16x DVD
Lite-On 52x24x52x
I'd say I have a pretty beastly machine.....for the time being :D
reading many benchmarks i noticed, the change from 512 to 1gb of ram didnt affect the scores much, except in memory intensive benchmarks, not games, wht about 1 to 2gb any difference?
In games, pretty much the only thing that I noticed was wen playing UT2K4 online. When maps change, I usually am the first to join that level since most of them are cached in memory. When doing other things like video editing etc, there is a big difference since everything I am working on usually fits into ramQuote:

Never mind benchmarks, you can feel the difference in windows staright away, lots & lots of memory can only help benchmarks so much, its not a faster/better number its just a bigger number.. when you add more memory you just give it more of a resource to use at that rate, diminishing return from it that way.Quote:
