Yeah, speed doesn't matter, so why the argument from "experts"? Fact remains, he was at least 100 MPH over the speed, the reckless endangerment will take into consideration his speed, and the method take to detect it. As far as the punishment, you're right, once you bang out something that illegal, those minor details don't mean a whole hill of beans...so again, why the preponderance of dispute from people that weren’t even there???

As to the rationalization of the wheelie, I knew that is what you were drawing to. If you look at my rationalization, you can also see the physics on why the jerky lost control.

I know why the guy dropped the bike, because he didn't know how to ride, took far to many chances with a passenger on the back, and was otherwise an idiot. Physics wasn't even a factor!!! :thumbs:

None the less, people do sh!t like this all of the time, It's just rare that this other guy got caught in the middle of it. I will teach my kids the difference between what is reasonably safe, and what is beyond stupid, and hope that they will apply this when they are out by themselves, or when with friends that might take chances with their lives...but in the end, there's only so much that I can do to protect them.

You seem to think that your effort is productive, and I commend you for your belief, the bottom line is that your efforts, along with anyone else trying to de-sensationalize this act isn't going to change the fact that there are at least 10 people right now on US highways maxing out their bikes or other hotrods, with another 10 waiting to do it in each subsequent second following…

I am glad to hear that you do see that this should not be hyped up. I know my efforts may not help everyone, but if 1 person does not do this crap, than it is better.

I was out a couple of weeks ago on my bike,

On the highway which was pretty busy at the time a pack of Ninja boys pass me in the right lane. I was in the middle lane going at about 75. These guys passed but not going much faster than I was. When the four of them caught up to their buddy who was waiting in the breakdown lane the guy who was waiting pulls into traffic doing a wheelie. So not to be outdone one of them waves me past, so I go ahead. I look in the mirror and this knuclke head is doing a wheelie at 75+ mph in the middle lane of 93 south. he was wearing a sweater, flip flops and nylon running pants! He did have a full face helmet.

They waved me on so if he wiped out I would be able to avoid hitting him or his ride. He was not obviously worried about the cars behind him though.
