Try the following:
Extract the contents of the driver to a folder and note the location
boot into safe mode
From add/remove programs, uninstall any creative drivers/software
Open device manager and select view hidden devices (I don't remember of Me has that option or not)
Under sound devices, delete anything resembling creative, ensoniq or sb
From the folder you noted, run sbsetup.exe
Reboot
If that doesn't work, my recommendation would be to purchase a new sound card.
