I think he will do well on Sirrius, he has a wide fan base, and now any Stern fan can get his show. Before this, you had to live in an area with a large market.

It doesn't matter how well Howard does on XM. The publicity they got for signing him will pay his salary.
After all how many people knew about XM before Howard and how many now?

Actually, Howard signed with Sirius, not XM.

Man,.. Howard did great on Letterman. He wasn't as aggressive as I thought he would be, but he got his point made. As soon as he gives the word, I'm getting a Sirius radio.

I know you don't care, but do you know if his programming is going to included in the basic Sirius package, or is it gonna be extra? Or have they even announced that yet?

As far as I know, Howard is going to be part of the basic subscription fee. He also mentioned that he has 3 different shows he is working on for Sirius.

Have you see the prices for this crap though? I'd buy it if they had political radio too so I could listen at work. Right now one of my main issues is that my building I work in murders radi signals and unless this thing has wicked sweet reception in a concrete bunker 50 feet underground, I'm probably listening to tapes. The costs right now are just too much to justify it (like $300 to convert car and have the thing portable, right?).

Well,.. it's still relatively new stuff. It's pricey because we are paying for the R&D right now. It's kinda like how that new CPU that comes out and it's $500, then 2 weeks later it's $150 because ANOTHER new one comes out. Give it a few years and it will settle down. I'll let everyone else go out and do it up for 2005. I'll be there in 2006 once the price settles down a bit more. Thanks goodness for XM (competition to keep prices in-line).

Really? How come not? It's satellite man. It should be available anywhere on the planet. I will research this for you.

For XM, you can buy "add-on" recievers for your car for around $150 + antenna (approx $20).

I bought the Alpine head unit that has the XM tuner built in, $345. Love it man!!

But, any additional radio you bring online, like for your house or second vehicle, is $6.99 / month. That's a pi$$ah. They are coming out with a portable one for XM, that also has 5 hours of record time.

I paid for 2 years up front for somewhere around $250, for the service. I think monthly is $10.

Not sure of the prices for Sirius, but I do remember them being higher per month.
