I am unclear here. If the board has the slot for it, but the PS has no dongle for it, then the board will not power up properly. You need a more modern PS in that event.Quote:

This is the connector which is not provided in the alternate power supply. I do not think it is age of the PS as much as possibly something proprietary to Gateway. As the fan was not running on the original pS I was not able to tell if the connection was normally closaed or opened or sensed. That is what I was wondering if anyone knew here.
