And that is one of the worst decisions you could possibly make. System Restore has a tiny impact on performance and may save you untold hours of grief. If you want an overview of the process read this. When any events happen that trigger the creation of a Restore Point, there is a small write delay incurred, but it is very short and only occurs at the beginning of the event.
