Without reading through the myriad of response, really the two "best bang for your buck" cards right now are:
GF2 MX
ATI Radeon 32 meg DDR
Each is avilable for $90 or less, and gives great 2d and 3d performance for the money. You would have to pay almost 4 times as much to double either of those cards' performance at 1024x768x32...
Thanks for all the info. Great as usual. One more question, has anyone used the Visontek brand of the Geforce II MX video card? Any good or bad words? (Can't seem to find a ASUS V7100 in stock anywhere?) https://forums.windrivers.com/
well i personaly haave to say the voodoo 4 4500 agp is an exlant card and if u are in to gamming voodoo can run ur cames in open gl better then the geforce2 gts (or at least the card i had) when u play q2 w/ open gl alot from a voodoo 3 2000 then go to a geforce that can't run the open gl at the same quality (not better either) its a sad day
thats my experence w/ it

How do I set my laser printer to "stun"?
I can't back up my hard drive, there's no reverse button.
OMG! Visiontek! Ack!
The core is a GeForce, but what's the rest of it made of? &b (Opinion... me... publisher... blah...)
Side note:
Asus boards = Dog Dangly Bits
Funny, and true. <img src=http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/tweetz/grommit.gif>
I'd say shoot for the GF2 MX or a Radeon board, possibly a Matrox, but their drivers can be weird sometimes.
