Strangest thing I found was a Hot Wheels corvette race car inside an old P75.
Otherwise, I've had to retrieve CDs from the inside of the case, when someone stuck CDs into it, thinking that the gap between the front panels were actually slots for the CDROM. When in fact, they didn't HAVE a cdrom!
thats my $.02
I was fixing a PC about a year ago, one of those old Dell's with alot of proprietary cards. Stuffed between two cards I saw a plastic bag. I first thought, "Why would anyone put a plastic bag in a PC?" After I pulled the bag out, I automatically knew why. It contained some once green, turned brown euphoria leaves. I didn't say anything to the owner because I didn't want to know what else he could have been hiding.
I once had to pull a CD out of a 5.25" FDD. Surprise, surprise, it was an AOL CD. Also, a couple of people have said they found ammo in the computer, but anyone ever seen ammo 'DISCHARGED' into a computer? I had a system come in that someone had shot with snakeload in a revolver. His story (confirmed by his wife when she picked it up) is that he caught his wife in a 'questionable' chat room......and he missed.
Why must I have been born in Texas??????

There go my ideas for a vacation after graduation... :D
Just recently I opened up a Tosh laptop at work to find a large HB pencil stuffed inside. It looked like the dumbass user had forced it in through the heatsink on the side of the case (there's no fan - it's an older model). When I asked how it happened he said "I was mmm... like, bored"
Mmmkay...
CD
hmmm... weirdest find. Definately has to be a quarter sack taped to a customer's HD. Asked him about it when he came to pick the machine up and he said he wanted to dry it out. He taped it to his HD and forgot about it for 2 years!! He was more worried about me calling the cops on him, so we talked about it outside the store as we were firing it up.
A tuner sandwich.
Well, I don't really have anything evenful that I've found, except LOADS of dust, etc. Although, when I was a student tech at my high school, one of the dumbass students decided to put a paper clip though the back of one of the computers...the thing completely fried the NIC and that horrible burnt PCB/electronics component smell permeated the room for the better part of a day. *gag, choke, cough*
To say the least, I was pissed.

I've had 3 chargers come in this week, all had some sort of "stuff" in them (yogurt?).
All 3 customers complained about the quality of our products.
Well, they usualy work when you don't dip them in yogury, or whatever they were dipped in.

You must be a musician. :)
I found lo mein in one once.
used paintbrush is the weirdest thing i've seen...
I had a pc once that had a slot cover out. Mouse made a nest and chewed off the wires in pc. :) Also found some speakers inside case already. like 4 inch car speakers.
I've not really had any major/memorable finds (mainly the overgrown dust bunnies, etc), but I have worked on systems that have had different beverages inside them. One example was a laptop I was asked to "see what I can do with it" by my boss, which the user said he had no clue why it wasn't working (at all). When I opened the sucker up, there was a thick layer of sticky soda pop coating the bottom and most of the underside of the mainboard. Upon reexamination of the outside of the case and the battery compartment, it was obvious that the guy tried cleaning off the laptop, before he sent it to us (with "no idea why it won't work").
Seen a lot of coffee on/inside systems as well. My boss loved that I could tell him how the customer liked their coffee (black or with cream, sweetened or not) :D
No, I didn't lick the coffee (I know someone would post something along those lines).....with cream it was light colored, sweetened is sticky where non sweetened is chalky....sheeesh

But I really haven't found anything super wierd inside of a computer yet spiders, bugs mice these are not that uncomon so there for not wierd.
Wierdest find inside a computer is about 200.00 in 5's and 1's. Don't know why anyone would hide money in a PC, but I know it never made it back in there.
My son is a bright lad, he is 3 and has mastered the windows gui, he can load and play games designed for a 6 year old and enjoys them. He even once refitted some ram for me correctly with out instructions from me. But there are some things he is yet to understand....
Cookies in a computer are not chocolate chip, and when the case to my pc is open, if there are no cookies in there, you should not put some in!
(I opened the case of my computer to add a card yesterday morning to find a chocolate chip cookie carefully placed on the bottom of the case not quite touching the motherboard.)
One weird find i had was from a 3 year old computer. When i opened it, i found nothing.. No dust anywhere, not on the fans, the case, mobo, nowhere. the computer still had the "new computer smell" turned out she bought the computer, put it in storage for a move, then forgot about it. 3 years later, she sets it up, and nothing, bad mobo. when we got the sucker powerd up, the windows was not even registered..
Warranty on it finished for it about 1 month before she brought it in. Needless to say we felt sorry for here and only charged her cost for the parts and no labour.
playing cards, poker chips, q-tip, ink pen, chapstick (melted), potato chips, duct tape ... it just goes to show that when the cover is off the blank external drive bay and you have kids in the area ......

Where I work we had to interesting things... 1 PC was brought in for repair, and the bottom PCI slot had no cover. Apparently a ton of mice had been living in the PC (and had to poop a LOT!!)... The other weird one was we had 2 PCs come in and when we openned it up, it had so much dust and spider webs, we couldn't tell if it was even safe to TOUCH. It was so thick , it didn't even look like anything recognizable... I made my boss take care of it :)

I must admit I've never seen anything that dusty, but we did have a very large family of mice build a nest under our Gigabit Ethernet - ATM Bridge using the insulation from the cables as a major part of its structure. Took us weeks to clean it out properly and re-lay all the damaged cabling.

cockroaches and cockroach eggs.
lots of them.
This reminds me of a CSI episode where a guy hides a gun he used to commit a murder inside his tower. Finding a murder weapon... now that would be cool! :)
My most common finds are pens and phillips screwdrivers. I've found at least 2 0r 3 of each over the years.
Weirdest find ever was some guy's driver's license. For the life of me I can't envision a scenario where something like that could wind up inside a PC.
My worst (scariest) find to date was a system where the last tech to work on it could not locate a suitable power switch for it, so he soldered on a replacement. When he discovered that it wouldn't fit back inside the case correctly he taped the switch in the ON position with duct tape and then taped the whole mess to the power supply. As the solder joints weren't insulated and there were burn marks on the side of the PS that might explain why it just rebooted from time to time.Quote:

My most memorable find to date is a pocket edition Gideon Bible inside one PC at work. Not sure if it belonged to the user or shipped with the PC.
