Okay since I was brought up directly as the reason Insane Monkey is leaving I will throw in my two cents. I placed him on my ignor list a long time ago and forgot to remove him. This was back in the day when he was causing trouble and trying to get into a flame war with me. I don't have time to deal with petty things like this. I tried helping I gave him advice and now I am the bad guy becaue I added one user to my ignor list. So all I can do is wish you luck, and tell you life is like this. You can't go through life getting confrontational with people you don't know. I am really very easy going, I don't try and start fights, I don't really care for fighting. So all I can say is that I hope you take this summer to grwo a little and learn that people don't set out to do you harm, people will help you out before they wish evil on you. I have removed you from my ignor list and if you want to flame me open up with both barrels if that will help you. Life is far to short to act this way and at the end of the day life goes on. Well I did not have any direct dealings with so I cannot justify anyone's stories here. Guess I won't be a persuasive ear. This is a community to help one another and that is why we all began coming here. To get help and to give help. If you are in desperate need of a repair problem and can do it in a positive attitude, please feel free. I'm sure no one will get thoroughly angry at you for that one. I like coming here because for the most part, we have some pretty "adult" (ie mature) conversaions. But crap like this and the other "I am leaving now" post that bring the mature nature of the site down. What next? Are we going to start seeing the "he's on my side of the car!" threads. When people start calling each other poopie heads, then I'll be gone.

Monkey, I think your problem is this:
You are (according to your website which I have seen) 14 years old. Most everyone else here is at least 18, and a lot of people are over 30. It seems like 90% of the time you are acting out to get attention. Best thing you can do is find some real friends (not online, in real life) who are about the same age as you. And if you already have some, then go hang out with them instead of staring at the screen all day!! Get a job, join the boy scouts, play a sport, help out old ladies--do anything constructive and I think you'll both build maturity and have less spare time to get in trouble!
What I wan to know is, if a member here is fed up with stuff, either real or imagined, that happens against him/her, why they feel the need to make a big soap opera about it and post in the lounge? Is it to get validation? To feel love? What is the purpose? If I felt that people were raggin on me for what I perceive to be no apparent reason, then I would do one of two things, and maybe do them together: 1. Talk to the mods to find out if there was something I did/said that offended people. 2. Just take a sabatical.
There is no point to posting some dreary letter to everyone saying "well I am fed up. I'm leaving!! Well, ok, if someone says stay, I will, But I am really leaving!!" The problem with this is that more people, tired of a previous whiner, will post something you find mean, get yourself all pissed again, and flame some more, pissing everyone else off, and starting a nice wonderful cycle. Then if you do happen to come back, people wil still remember the bad way in which "you" left. Just go. Or don't and deal with it.
Now I'm not saying GO to you Monkey, since I have no idea what you seem to be upset about. I missed that train. However, since you posted an annoying (to me anyway) letter, which I consider one big whine-fest, I ask why stay? Why be more annoying than you already have? Your initial letter shows that you understand that you yourself may be responsible for some of the other users being upset with you, so why not build on that, leave for a whille, think about how you want to be treat and come back in a month. I saw another user, who is nameless, do the same thing, however since that time, I have not really noticed any antangonistic posts by that individual. And I have seen users respond to this person in a positive light, which leads me to believe that the users here are pretty forgiving.
The other thing to think about..Who are we to you anyway? We are just some mostly anonomys posters who may or may not be who we say we are. Why do you care so much about how "we" treat you? If you do care, which obviously you do, then stay, act the way in which you want to be treated, and quit the soap opera crap. I don't watch them on tv, so why do I have to watch them on Windrivers?

Wow.....I missed this one yesterday...I say take a break and go from there. This is a great site and I have never really seen anyone get nasty...(not in seriousness anyway) when something is said it is followed with :D so they know people are just having fun...

Monkey I am completely neutral about whether you stay or go.
I do however, fear for the poor person caught up in an auto accident with you, because it doesn't matter who was really at fault, that person will either be hospitalised or have a breakdown.

This is the exact reason why you should leave. apparently we all have a problem with you. Funny thing is, if this were one or two people, I'd say yeah it may be them, they are the problem. Sorry it's the DI comming out in me. Everyday I had to put up with kids like him, broken toy's we used to call them and we had to fix them and send them back home as men. It was one of these broken toys that nearly ended my career in the USMC and what caused me to leave active duty and become a reservist. I guess part of me wants to help him, the other half wants to give up and walk away. Sorry about that. Time for me to go home to my fiance and snuggle.Quote:

I have a rather dumb question... What is a flame? And what's this about "Ignore lists"? I don't see anything on the forum for ignore... I told you it was a dumb question :)
Read Dale Carnegies "How to Win Friends and Influence People" Monkey.. The book is great in pointing out simple things that people look for in relationships and it helps you to build skills dealing with people in both the professional sense and in your private life.
A flame is a personal attack on a member or a group of members which is not attended as a joke. Ignore list is to block PM's from people you don't want to talk to or here from. It's not a silly question, the only silly question is the one which goes unaskedQuote:

Tiffin if you go to "my profile" at the top of the screen, if you get private messages you can ignore further messages from a person.
Flamers are those who argue on a false premise and/or are personally insulting to another poster.
