Nicotine is a stimulant ! ... so having another won't calm you down at all ;) - it might make you think you are calmer, but physically it won't ...

As for smoking in public - the only place you can do my kind of smoking is in Holland !!! (without getting arrested anyway).

However the whole point of banning smoking in public places is to stop the government getting its arse sued off for allowing passive smoking - now when is this idea gonna spread to other airbourne pollantants which are much more prevalent ??? Like car fumes, factory fumes, power station fumes etc - they release a zillion times more toxins every hour of every day than I'm ever gonna manage on twenty a day in an entire lifetime .... :p - so :kiss: my :butt:

I used to smoke a lot, used it to wean myself of harder stuff, and I don't just mean weed. Over time I've needed it less, now I'm pretty much quit except when I'm busy. I do enjoy a cigarette (B+H) with a drink, a cigar or "other" once in a while, but otherwise, I pretty much don't. I don't object if people around me smoke though, it really doesn't bother me, friends smoke in my car and my home and I don't mind at all.

You sound cool Outcoded. Not like that cop looking guy (Ya_Know). I respect what you say. In December, I quit for 2 weeks and one day when I had a big server/network install, things got intense. I said, f$%^ it and went outside for a cig. All my best ideas come when I'm outside smoking. Anyway, the solution came to me and we all lived happily ever after. I don't smoke in the house and I usually even go outside to smoke at a bar. I don't want anyone breathing my smoke and am sensitive to other's clean air. However, when Mr. Cop wannabe(ya_know), says smokers should be on a desolate island, I have to take offense. I too have quit much harder stuff, just like you. I commend you for it. I'm proud just as I know you are. To hell with sinless people!

If some people think that smokers should live on an island ... what with it? Are you being forced to smoke or not smoke? Are you being forced to live on an island? Good point. Maybe you're right. Maybe it's like me saying all gay people should have to live on a desolate island. Maybe I took offense when I shouldn't have. Since this is not what I do (debate issues, usually), then I retract everything I've said, apologize to every one and just go. I've got this misbehaving computer to work on anyway.
