Funny dispite the Canadians old equipment our soldiers beat the USA at wargames most of the time. We have the best trained Army in the world as I understand it. Pitty we fight with 40 year old weapons.Quote:

Canadian troops are among the best if not the best in winter like warfare. Very gritty troops. Hard as nails. You have to be to live in -60F weather. I dont think that Canada has to worry too much about a standing military because of the treaty with the US. Canada knows that if they are attacked the full weight of the US military will come crashing down on the aholes who attacked our great beer making buddies to the north.
Now for canadians in WWII, if I remember correctly, they took some of the heaviest casualties during D-Day. The numbers were hidious. But they kept fighting till the end. For that alone they get a big big :thumbs:

Although at the beginning of WW2 the canadians were concerned that they might take similiar casualties as they did in WW1 and made an effort to be supportive in ways other than actual combat troops (of which they did supply plenty).
