Not at all; just makes sense that I would support France and not England on this occasion. Lived in Scotland two-thirds of my life and France for one-third. Never in England. It is logical really.Quote:

And as for that off-side thing, even reading an explanation of it hurts. Give me rugby any day, the rules are so much more complicated and no one really understands them but the violence is great. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Latest e-mail joke doing the rounds, only the brits will get this unfortunately...
Euro 2004 FA Announcement...
David Beckham's voice will be used to make all the in stadium
announcements at future England matches in euro 2004
A spokesman for the FA said
"We heard he comes over the PA really well"
They DO ! :D .. but not so much at football, that vroom vroom vroom thingee gives 'em too much advantage ;)Quote:

Aaaaarghh!!!!
Typical English pessimism wins out over US Winning Spirit!!!
Trip turns up at the Titchski household with a half slab of Becks, other English pople turn up 2 minutes after kicki off with a sixer of Mich Ultra between them.
All agreed, first goal was subliminal class from "the Boy Lampard"
PENALTY... Christ, Schoolboy finish from Becks, Right and not far enough away from the keeper. Wanker
Half time, everyone agrees that defence nneds to be the key, except Bob, who thinks that England are playing well, but should attack more.
Second half - boring.
Last three minutes of second half... DISASTER. WTF, Emile (Brummie by design) Heskey kicks some frog in the throat (which would have been great at Agincourt). Resulting free kick sees the Frogs draw level. Aaarh PENALTY, Calamity wipes out the Frog in the penalty box, and Zidane scores.
Final score Frogs 2 - England1 - Well done Atodini, as an Arsenal fan, you must know the players on the French Team better than the rest of us
  ;)
ARGHHHH! Indeed!!! WTF???Quote:

Geesh, some of the Brits I saw the game with (btw: THANKS TITCHSKI https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif were unbellievably pessimistic! Gessh: the one guy called it with two minutes left and I said "don't talk like that"!!! But: guess what? It happened anyway!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! And, thoroughly diisheartening!!!
I, for one can NOT believe it!!!
Gutted!
You don't miss penalties against the best team in the world. Beckham is not a penalty taker. It was a crap penalty and deserved to be saved. Beckham=****e penalty taker. When he missed that I knew, just knew it would cost us and it did. Anyway, as one of the boys in the pub said, "we're not out of the competition yet". It's just how the f**k can we hold a lead with a coach who brings on Heskie? I'm not happy, but that's life.
Working on league table as we speak!
I can understand being mad at Beckham for not gettimg the penalty. BUTT: HE did not give up the Penalties and lose the game!!! In fact he assisted on the one goal with a beautiful "serve" into the box for Lampard.
He did not lose this game by missing the penalty!!
But penalties did lose the game! And HE did not make them!!
You want a scapegoat: HESKY!! WTF????
Allez les Blues ! https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Congratulations EMR. I like the French attitude of not giving up. See you in the Final! I wish!!
BAH HUMBUG!!!https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

Absolutely gutted, The French were sh!te all game right up until the kick in the throat by Heskey (I know he's a Brummie now, but holy crap, someone needs to tell him it's not so much a bad city that he needs to practice self defence!!!).
Trip, if you remember, I said that the missed pen was the turning point in the game - if we'd scored that, then the whole scenario would have been different - whether or not we'd bought Vaseline and Heskey (the Donk) on.
Gerrard was cr4p the whole game - he couldn't pass wind, let alone the ball.
Best player for England was Ledley King - which says something considering he was a replacement
Oh well, roll on Thursday at Dannys
Monday morning now, please disregard any posts by be last night, it's a bad idea to post when a bit pissed!
I cannot blame anyone for what happened, it's football. I think Beckhams the dogs b******s and at least he had the guts to take the penalty, (and got it on target). The cross for the goal was top drawer. I also like Heskey, it's a shame he was trying to defend when he gave away the free kick, we were too deep the whole second half.
There's only two problems with this England team.
1. They cannot defend a lead
2. We have no penalty takers (bring back Shearer)
Anyway, I'm convinced we'll make it to the quarter finals and face Spain!
