ok, the folder needs to be unzipped to a folder you can find easily. You then need to do the update from within device manager. Use the update driver button on the driver tab of the cyberblade properties. When the wizard launches tell it you want to do the advanced option...navigate to the folder and windows should then be able to use it.
I did that and it said the driver was the same one as that I was trying to replace. Did you want me to do another HijackThis thingummy?
yes yossarian, can't do much without that.
Yes, but you said to do it in "normal mode" and I didn't know whether that was any different to the way I did it last time?Quote:

Tried all that and it was still the same. After looking in the .inf file I saw that it is actually the driver I already have so don't know why the Toshiba site says it is a newer version.Quote:

D1bble check for spyware - read here Then start a new thread so that yossarian can have his back and post your hijack this log. Thanks
Lord knows. It keeps popping up in Task Manager and I delete it when I see it. I'll get rid of it with HijackThis...
find the exe and remove it from your system yossarian End the process first.
Hi all,
I came across this post, and it seems remarkably similar to my annoying DVD playback problems on my Satellite. The only notable thing is that this thread is three years old apparently... was there ever any sollution?
My toshiba worked great for the first year or so, and now the DVD playback is bumpy (both sound and vid), and there appears to be a great deal of drive hunting going on (little orange read light stays lit and the drive gets hot). Some days it's okay, some days it's brutal. Sometimes rebooting helps, sometimes not. Sometimes it gets worse over the course of a vid, sometimes better.
I tried dealing with my retailer (staples.ca) since I paid hundreds for extended warranty, and to say they are more worthless than a bull's tit is an understatement.
Any development on this issue? I will be sure to try all the tricks mentioned in this thread.
cheers
I'm afraid I never sorted it. It seemed to be a generic Toshiba Satellite problem. Have since bought a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro and that has caused me no bother at all. Sorry not to be more helpful.
