I got the confirmation of the actual order the same day - 9th, and the shipping confirmation today - 20th.
11 day delay.

I just received this E-Mail from Scott Carlson:
Subject: Novell Linux Technical Resource Kit Shipment Update
As you may have noticed, there has been a slight delay in your Novell Linux Technical Resource DVD kit shipment. We had a phenomenal response to this free offer, and have had to adjust production to meet this demand.
In an effort to provide you with the most current Linux software from Novell, and to accommodate the release of a new, yet-to-be-announced Linux product, the decision was made to delay shipment on some of the more recent Linux Technical Resource Kit orders.
As a result, your kit will ship during the last week of July * with the latest Linux software from Novell. We will notify you again as soon as your order is mailed.
We appreciate your patience, and are confident you will find the Novell Linux Resource Kit a comprehensive tool to evaluate the Linux offerings from Novell.
Sincerely,
Novell Customer Communities

"Hello,
On June 30th I received confirmation of my order for the above. The mail also stated that the order would ship in "7 to 10 business days".
I know you're probably overrun with hordes of geeks taking you up on this kind offer, but I'd just like to find out when the order will be shipping.
Thanks!"
I'll pass on any info I get from the mysterious kwright,
Cheers
Yep...Though I'm now leaning more towards september...sighs...Quote:

edited for exceptionally bad spelling.
After sending a second e-mail asking for at least some response as to what is going on I recieved a message today saying that my package was sent and I should recieve it in a week. I guess I don't the new package!! I thought they ran out?!? :(
I got the same email today from Novell. I guess they weren't expecting the rush that they got. Oh well, back to waiting :thumbs:Quote:

Thank you, Ju-Leon, for bringing this to my attention.
Just got mine.
Gonna Play this weekend.
Just got mine today as well. (probably arrived yesterday but I ddin't check the mail until today)...
This is sooo gonna be sweet...
It does not look like anybody in the U.S. is getting there copy. Maybe they only ran out in the US, while other countries still have a supply left. Oh well, I'm willing to wait if it means getting a newer version.
Well I still don't have mine :( Time for another email to the mysterious Kim in Sales Support.
I got mine! Arrived Friday.
Just got mine today. Three dvd's SUSE Linux Pro 9.1, SUSE Linux Pro 8.2 & Ximian Desktop 2, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8, Nterprise Linux Services 1.0, GroupWise 6.5.1, Red Carpet Enterprise Server 2.02, ConsoleOne, and Linux Resources.
I'll find out Monday morning whether or not mine came in at the office then. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Well I got an e-mail on the 23rd or last month saying it was shipped and I'd recieve it WITHIN a week.... still waiting..... :flame:
Just sent a "WTF" letter to "Kimberly" yesterday, got the same e-mail as Shard92 but on the 22nd of last month. Still waiting...... :(
Told them they were making me and themselves look bad to the company I work for, maybe that will rattle the right chain.
Sent further follow up to the mysterious Kim in Sales Support:
"Hi,
I still haven't received my order, this is just a quick follow up to see if I can get another copy as it looks as if the first you sent out prior to the 23rd of July has gone astray (obviously my mailman is as big a geek as I am),
If you could let me know, I'd appreciate it,
Thanks"
Just got mine today...
Mine showed up on Friday, Just have to wait till I get 2 PC's to try it out on now
Nothing at the office yet...
finally after almost 3 weeks from the day they said it would arrive in a week.... I have recieved the kit!!!
No comment. :(
Just received this E-Mail. Sweet ! :)
Subject: Novell Linux Technical Resource Kit - Shipped
Your Novell Linux Technical Resource Kit will ship at the latest by Monday, August 16, 2004 via US Mail. Please allow up to 7-10 days for delivery in the United States.
As mentioned in a previous e-mail to you, we delayed shipping the kit because of a greater than anticipated response rate, and the fact that it contained the previously unannounced SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
(SLES) 9 product. Announced at the LinuxWorld Expo last week in San Francisco, we are excited to be able to provide you with this first enterprise server product to include the new 2.6 Linux kernel.
Although we began fulfilling the pending kit orders as soon as SLES 9 was announced last week, it has taken us some time to fulfill the tens of thousands of orders that we received. We appreciate your patience, and are confident you will find this updated Novell Linux Resource Kit a comprehensive tool for evaluating the Linux offerings from Novell.
...
well my 3 dvd's aren't in the best of shape. I think there is some kind of adhesive on the underside that is causing some problems. there definately is some kind of crud on the disk so I'm not thrilled.... with the problems I had getting them I don't know if I'll try and get new ones or not....
Sent an email asking what happened (its been over a month) and got ;
"Obviously it is lost in the mail or your postman likes Linux. Sorry for
the delay. I will put one in the mail to the address below. Let me
know if the address is NOT correct. Thanks. Kim"
where have I heard that before ?
Finally! Got mine in yesterday afternoon's mail. Surprisingly, they arrived in good condition (no "gunk" problems as others have noted).
I know they were free and all, but long waits and non-reponsive customer support ("Kimberly" didn't respond to my last two e-mails) make for a rough first impression.
Guess I should just shut up and be grateful I got them at all.
Yeah I understand.... BUT this was suppose to be something that would attract customers... and not just geeks but businesses..... Sure makes me wonder what kind of help I'd get from them if I were to be a customer..... I understand they'll treat me better ( well in theory anyway  ) but sure makes me think they are far from ready to get into the market.... Don't get me wrong I like SUSE linux I have it at home but this is really making me think that Novel after purchasing SUSE is in over their head.....
Finally got mine today . :bor:
I still don't have mine.
