The correct term for anyone in what might now be considered 'modern Britain' is UK Citizen, which of course confus-ing-ly, is a different place from 'Britain' ( so this ones Uk mainland & Northern Ireland & the channel Islands & the Scilly Isles).
All this 'empire' stuff then complicates matters even further over whether you are entitled to be considered a 'Uk citizen' as the original definition included 'all her majesties Crown colonies' ( it might btw have been 'his majesties' at the time, but I couldn't be arsed looking all the dates up !) - so this is where the 'I was born in India so that makes me a Uk citizen' line comes from as before the 50s it was a 'crown colony' & any citizen of that was by default also a citizen of the Uk ..
The folks in the Falklands & Gibralta are the ones I feel sorry for out of all of this 'mess' they still live in 'crown colonies' but get no stinking rights .. though we did manage a war for the Falklanders, though 'really' that's another one 'all about oil' :eek2: ;)
Isnt that where some of these Yanks come from? :D:DQuote:

Born to English parents on a UK military base, within West Germany (so technically, I was born in the UK in Germany). Became a naturalised citizen of Germany, now I live in the UK and the paperwork doesn't quite add up
Basically, international citizen of the world.
Does that give you dual German citizenship? Or doesn't a military base count as German soil????Quote:

Sounds just like what I said before. But if freddy insists, well then, he is an Englishman.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
You're joking right? British bikes have always been ****, sure, they look nice, but that's about it. Honda all the way for me.Quote:

Aston Martin - owned by F*ord
Rover/Morris/Austin/MG - Pretty much killed off in the 70's.
Triumph - Somehow outlived the rest of BMC, now just sticking to **** bikes.
Either way, it confirms my theory that all good cars are made in Germany ;)
I can understand if you are talking about older triumphs but the modern bikes are considered one of the most reliable in the industry according to Motorcycle Consumer News owners poll which is a mag with no sponsors so their opinion is their opinion.
Honda and reliability are a given, their's no argument there and when they do have issues that care of them immediately.
Now I notice you are not in the US so i don't know if you have the oppurtunity to get MCN. Germany does make some nice bikes though

Sorry, missed that q. The base was technically British soil (like an embassy is), so I have a British passport and a German passport... though I'll probably have to give them the German one back when it expires, as I'm not truely a dual citizen.Quote:

Though they do have one thing the other two can't touch them on, and that's style in buckets. It's the one thing I don't like about Hondas, and that's their tendancy just to copy everyone else's style.
Talking of Germans...
I had a very pleasant evening at the local German American Club last night, carrying the flag of St. George at their International Festival. As a result of negotiations with their social committee, it looks like there'll be a Germany vs England football match at the Oktoberfest :D
Oh and Trip, if you fancy a beer there, let me know, me and English Bob are going up there on Friday
That sounds like a winner "ski. Should I bring my St George flag?https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

Not an American (read US Citizen), living in USA, born in Europe (not UK), having 1/4 mixed blood of at least 3 (maybe even 4-5 nations).
You might check and see what the laws were at the time of your birth. It may be that you are entitled to a dual citizenship as you were born in West Germany, which may be enough to qualify you for German citizenship, depending on the laws at that time. Two passports are better than one, usually. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:
