I can trick out a "ricer" with the money left over from not buying that connie, but why would I? It would just be investing more money in something that will never go up in value, a '02 tacoma will never be any more than an '02 tacoma. I'll take that additional cash and toss it at a motorcycle that even stock can do the 1/4 in the 9's off the show room floor and leave you in the dust on the track :) or just buy a BMW and ride fast and comfortably. I do think we need video of Ya_know beating some ricers with the connie to send to all ricers to hopefully discourage them from tricking out their car and putting obnoxious exhausts systems on their cars.
I bought mine used, was less then $12k, and didn't trick out one thing. I put 50k miles on it before it was rear ended, and I took a break-even loss, meaning that everything I had into the car I lost, which was about $9+ with payments and maintenance over the three years I owned it. That comes out to a lease payment of about $250 a month with no money down for a luxury $40k car. Not bad if you ask me...let me see you do that with a ricer...Quote:

Brembo kits...lots of websites have them. It uses the stock calipers, and comes with bigger rotors (discs) and the hardware to re-mount the calipers. There were also the racing kits that looked real mean (and cost nearly 2 grand)
I don't really have the bucks to do a brake upgrade and get new tires now, though, so I think I'm going to get a set of OEM rotors and new shoes for now.
One thing interesting that I found: according to a TSB, the brakes tend to squeel badly at low speed (as mine do) because the calipers and mounting hardware can achieve natural frequency during low speed, light braking. :eek:
