I too am ver saddened by this tragedy. I couldn't eat yesterday and my chest still hurts. I am not pointing fingers at anyone because it is not my place to do so. But I wanted to bring up a few things that some people had mentioned before. Now that this horrible tragedy has occured what now? Say for instance that it is Osama Bin Laden(Spelled right?), his followers from what I gather is pretty much of holy crusaders. They are supposedly sickened by how the Americans live. He was recorded saying that he wanted to destroy all athiests. The problem...He is not a country, he is a group of men spread over a large area. What are the US's options if they find out that he is guilty? Many propose to bomb the countries harboring them...well that's going to be a few. What is that going to do? Well, it is going to give to resentment and probably several countries fighting back because they won't just sit by and take it. What is the other alternative? Well, you could have those countries give these men up...but guess what, that is not going to give up everyone and they are pretty good about being evasive...so that won't solve the problem, what will? This is all speculation on my part so bear with me. Religion has been brought up a lot in all of this...and that is the main attitude behind Osama Bin laden. I have heard some say this has turned into a holy, this may come to be true. If you really think about it, how much has religion played in wars now and in the past? Almost all wars are due to religion. And if most of the religions practice what they preach then we wouldn't see most of the wars that has happened. The bible says to be peaceable, but a lot of religions has not. Think about the WW's for instance, Catholics killing Catholics??? If people truely followed the counsel in the bible none of that would have happened or even now. So what is going to happen now? I have some idea's but I'd rather not voice them because I don't want to be too speculative. But it makes you think. Once again I'm sorry if this offeneded anyone, this is not my intent, just sharing my point of view like everyone else. Thank you for the oportunity.

CJK bings up a good point. If Bin Laden is found and persecuted that does not mean that terrorism will end. Some one will take his place. A message must be sent to the world. TERRORISM DOES NOT WORK! Bomb our cities, we will perceiver, we will rebuild and be better than before. They can not dictate our way of life. That will be the only way to end this madness.

AthosGhost, I don't believe that my line of thinking is dangerous, and I'll tell you why. There was a recent article in one of our national papers, The National Post, that described how in temples across the country, there are people actively raising money for the Tamil Tigers (a known and recognized terrorist organization. Hamas recently was discovered to have a couple of websites hosted in Canada, etc. I am not calling for the restriction of immigrants, especially since I am one myself. Rather I'm calling for tighter control, more intelligence sharing between countries and for Canada to actively do something about known terrorists in the country. Canada's record for this sort of thing is appalling.

Rotten, those quotes you posted can definitely been seen in a negative light. And I'm not proud to read them. But let's for a moment look at what the Arab side says about Israel. You will find that they have a lot more to say and on a greater scale:

Here's a way that I came up with to show support for the WTC attack. I feel I need to do something, but living in Minnesota, in isn't very feasible to drive up to NY to help clean up. Here's a thought:

Ask your employer if you can work for a day for free, and take the wages they were gonna pay you for that day and send them to New York/DC to help (or the red cross or whatever).

Think about it, it's not any worse than taking an unpaid sick day or unpaid holiday, and it'll help a lot of people.

I plan to do it, and I hope you can convince your employer to do it.
