I had not thought of it that way.

What I'd listed originally was 1 pt for right answer, 1 pt for right explanation, or 3 pts for both...

It seemed like the best way to reward those who initially answered a question, while not overly penalizing those who used that answer to find the explanation.

Do you think it could be done some other way?

I think you are doing it right, knowing the answer is a big clue to the explanation.

Yes.

(cos 0 + cos 0 + cos 0 + cos 0 + cos 0)!

cos 0 = 1
(1 + 1 + 1 +1 + 1)! = 5! = 1 * 2 * 3 * 4 *5 = 120
