I can agree with better security on Airlines. I was appalled by the lack of security during my flights around the country a couple of weeks ago. I can also agree that better intelligence is needed. Better intel was needed in the 70's when Carter supported the Shah Pahlavi (Which pretty much started our problems in the middle east IMO). But the Bill of rights states that no government can dictate the thoughts of an individual. Freedom of relgion, freedom of speech, these things have been guarnteed to us and paid for in blood by hurdreds of thousands of people through out history. I know it's maddness to have support for Terrorist within the United States and our neighboring Canada, but that too is a price of freedom. A democratic society is one of the toughest people could ever have. Having to listen to other peopls oppinions that make you angry, that strike at your very morals, is something we have to endure. Taking away these rights could change the nature of our great nation.
Finally, let me state that I am not a peace activist. I call for a swift retribution to those responsible. To do anything less is irresponsible, but to do anything more would be immoral.

AthosGhost, I am not about taking away one's rights. I am specifically talking about Canada's record of tolerance for terrorism. The US has a much better record of terrorist control (keep in mind that this tragedy could have happened in Canada, but we don't have national symbols that are as powerful as the Pentagon, White House and the Towers), and it would be nice if Canada brought its policies up to par.
