Check this out I found a family of mice living in a computer. I opened the cover and they all ran scared the crap out of me. They made a nest on top of a 333 MHZ celeron slot 1 could not figure out how it didnt short there was turds and urine stains everywhere on the HD, cards etc.
And then theres my bunny collection I had a P133 come in for a upgrade I opened it up to find a dust bunny the size of a baseball. No word of a lie my biggest ever. I often see golfball size and smaller and take pictures. Not that I collect them 8)

Hi all,
I'm new to windrivers but here's my $0.02,
The weirdest thing i ever found inside of a computer was cd's. Not the music cd's but the OS, and drivers cd's. They had been taped to the inside of the computer so that the owner wouldn't lose them.

You may laugh, but I have acutally done that...
There were a couple people who I sold computers to where I did that so that they could find them when necessary...

No I won't laugh at you but the fact was when I discovered those cd's they told me it wasn't done by a tech or salesperson for that matter.
The people had done this themselves so they wouldn't lose them, and when they had computer problems they couldn't remember where they were.

The weirdest thing i ever saw was someone using an empty pack of smokes(players i think) and a little tape to hold up one end of a hard disk. The other end was hanging from the ribbon cable. was in for hard disk issues....

"certain" customers that you know are a "pain in the *** " get there driver disks and m/board manual taped behind the right hand cover ,,,,,VERY handy when they ring you up with there pentium 133 seven years later ,,,,,plus if u give them there disks ,,,its obvious that you will have to make a call when they load every crap program that comes on there install CD.
and then dont forget the one that rings up saying "i cant get this AWARD flash prog to work under windows",,,,,,,,,,,,is it a game , my mate at work "who knows about computers" says its a screen saver !!!!!!!
dont laugh ,,,,,,,,,they do do it !!!

The weirdest thing I have found was in a Dell server. We purchased this new, and rougly a month later we decided to add another SCSI drive. I popped the case and realised it had a SCSI drive already mounted, but not connected. I checked the invoices and it was not listed as an extra.

this is not strange to find in a computer but tag stains from smokeing by it, this computer was under a year old, and the gray ide ribons were golden colored and it smelt so bad that after we cleaned it out with air it had to sit the the corner by the exhaust vent for 10 min before we could touch it. It was gross

My former company somehow bought about 30 computers(before I was there) which used laptop HD's. That was very interesting when I went to open one up.

Strangest thing I found was a Hot Wheels corvette race car inside an old P75.
Otherwise, I've had to retrieve CDs from the inside of the case, when someone stuck CDs into it, thinking that the gap between the front panels were actually slots for the CDROM. When in fact, they didn't HAVE a cdrom!
thats my $.02

I was fixing a PC about a year ago, one of those old Dell's with alot of proprietary cards. Stuffed between two cards I saw a plastic bag. I first thought, "Why would anyone put a plastic bag in a PC?" After I pulled the bag out, I automatically knew why. It contained some once green, turned brown euphoria leaves. I didn't say anything to the owner because I didn't want to know what else he could have been hiding.

I once had to pull a CD out of a 5.25" FDD. Surprise, surprise, it was an AOL CD. Also, a couple of people have said they found ammo in the computer, but anyone ever seen ammo 'DISCHARGED' into a computer? I had a system come in that someone had shot with snakeload in a revolver. His story (confirmed by his wife when she picked it up) is that he caught his wife in a 'questionable' chat room......and he missed.
Why must I have been born in Texas??????

There go my ideas for a vacation after graduation... :D
Just recently I opened up a Tosh laptop at work to find a large HB pencil stuffed inside. It looked like the dumbass user had forced it in through the heatsink on the side of the case (there's no fan - it's an older model). When I asked how it happened he said "I was mmm... like, bored"
Mmmkay...
CD
