Now how did being intellegent (I think i vaped some of those brain cells with pot) get me gifts, Had I actually accomplished something? No I did not; just like I wont accomplish much with this rant. I now have three children two whom live 4 miles away with their mother, and one that lives here. The two that live with their mom are totally absorbed by getting gifts. My son had a two hour argument with his mother about a stupid scooter that he will play with for about 6 hours and then go back to Playstation (no not two, ill not get sucked up by that hype)
So now I must deal with an angry dwarf who may or may not get a $40.00 scooter, if he doesnt get the scooter both his mother and I will be resented and scorned. How is that for holiday spirit, all of this because his mother and I had an argument about santa clause (sp) I said not to make the kids believe in a ficticious character (like Bill Gates really runs the show at M$) I didnt want him to believe a fallacy that will confuse him when he getts older and other kids burst the bubble. Now about going to see the family, I have to go to six places on christmas eve My mothers, my wifes mothers, her fathers (divorced) her granmothers, her grandfathers, and go see the kids. all of which if we miss one place somebody is going to be insulted. No one stopped to think that driving 150 miles in two days to celebrate a holiday isnt insulting to me.(it is two days off work with pay, I want to relax) so you can see where some of the christmas hate comes from.
Then I truly feel sorry for you. I admit, I've become pretty jaded with the holiday season over the past few years. But I still realize that if for nothing else, Christmas is for the kids, and I do everything in my power to make sure my neices and nephews enjoy Christmas. Yeah, maybe it has become over-commercialized over the years, but not everyone buys into it. Some of us just sit back, and enjoy the looks on the kids faces as they tear into present after present, and have fun with their new toys.
