This is my favorite problem of all time.
Had a user call and say that their computer was not working. Went to their office and turned it on. Problem Solved.
Other than that there is someone that demands a new pc. The only problem with it is our purchases just get laughed at and denied. Soon I think they will get the hint that pentuim 75 are not "new" technology

Well I just want to know how come my sisters has that nice windows thing on her screen and I can't find it on mine? "Windows thing?" Yes that pretty beach picture with her little dodads on it! "Okay sound's like a Win/me desktop. What O/S are you running?"
O/S? "Operating System" Are you ready for this one ? oh is an I-Mac By Apple Why ?
She really got pissed I couldn't stop laughing !

My wife had one come in to buy a new monitor.
The person called back later pissed as h#@*, because the new monitor did'nt have Windows 98, like the one she looked at in the store!

Was workin at a shop, and a mate answers the phone: "G'day, I think my mouse is dead. How much is new memory for it?" "Pardon", our end of the line says. "I need some new mouse memory, how much?" from the guy.
Another one. These guys come in and wonder why they aren't getting CD-Audio. We pop the lid, and the idiots had hooked up the 3 1/2" power thing onto the CD-Audio input of the sound card. Duh!!!!
Another guy, "Look, my brand new keyboard doesn't work properly!" We asked him if it was the right connection and stuff, and finally find out he wants to return it cause his fingers were fat and the keys were small, and he kept on punching more than one button at a time!!! And he had just brought the brand new keyboard from the shop, and expected to return it cause he was fat!!!

Had a guy come in yesterday to tell me his printer wasn't working. There was a connection error that came up on the screen.
He says picks up a serial male to female convertor and says he wants to connect his parallel printer to this because he thinks his parallel port is faulty.
I go through the usual routine of not being rude and telling him it won't work.
He thinks I am wrong because he KNOWS about computers and he is RIGHT!!
Before he leaves he asks if he can bring it back if it doesn't work and I say no, not unless the convertor is faulty. So he walk off and comes back a few hours later, looking for his money back beacuse his serial port doesn't work with his parallel printer.
I refused to give this ******* his money back and he bought a printer cable instead, one of the things I had suggested in the first place.
Customers like that are just a complete waste of time and effort.
I feel like we are better off to ignore them and them be in ignorant bliss.

That's so classic. I had a guy in here once asking about memory. When I tried to explain the difference ("one's big and one's small..."), the guy asked me if we could use a memory adapter to make the "big, cheap chip fit in the small hole." Ummm... no, but if I find a way to do that, I'll be sure to let you know.Quote:

get this, had a guy call me once and ask me if we had any of the new wireless printers in stock and then he got peeved and chewed me out for not knowing what I was talking about when I told him they didn't exist. I would suppose one of his co-workers was trying to play a joke on him. My friends and I back in highschool talked this girl into going to a mechanic shop once and asking for some blinker fluid because her right signal wouldn't work and she did it!!
