the site! We didn't have a Tech Lounge,
And there was Darren, Shawn, George, "Q" &
Myself as Mods, Far fewer problems, and
About the worst Was a Flammer poped in
from time to time and was removed post haste!
Then Scott sold the site, and the Tech Lounge
was created, and problems soon arived.
But you can't live in the past!
So how about the "good new days"???

You're exactly right here Cuervo. I mean, I havn't been around all that long, but look not at who's posting, but who isn't posting.

DW and Cobra's gone, Cuervo, Grover, Dr J, Elbatcho and others have all not been around as much as they used to. There's a new group of people in here, and let's face it, they arn't posting with as much interesting topics/replys as there used to be. The creativity and imagination has left this place, and it's pretty sad, but it's life. People move on. The site's still going, but really, we'll get one, maybe two days a week where there's a lot of posting. Just look at some of the dates on the main page. There's topics which havn't been touched in months. Guess people are just getting more Oxygen and Sun now a days, or are working more, or something, but a lot of the heavy hitters have been gone. Shoot, I reacked up almost 1,000 posts in a couple of months at another site before it closed down, because I found the site interesting, but here I barely post. Just not much to post about anymore. Everything's been said or done.

I personally think the issue here is that the rule of "no flaming" has been set to encompass anyone who has anything that disagrees with what someone else is saying. Then the folk who feel that they or others have been flamed quickly IM the mods whining about how their feelings are hurt. I was IM’ed asking me to lay off a certain individual (who I was taking a few potshots at – though this is not abnormal) as other new users were bitching about me. Since then I have posted in a somewhat more “friendly” format than before and watch what I say. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not blaming the mods here but the new members who want everything to be shiny and happy and god forbid that we have a real difference of opinion in a post and really argue about something. That’s where the good topics come from.

I think we should begin posting about more racy topics and be free of constraint in the lounge. If you can’t handle the heat stay out of the lounge. Topics touting or decrying religion, companies, people and whatever should be fair game and we should be able to use whatever language we wish barring illegal activity or racism. This of course rules out hacking which I have felt we need some sort of “Security” forum for. That would bring the life back to this place.

One note:

Within 5 minutes of my post topics on boxers or briefs, ladies undies (no offense QT) and fishing have surpassed this onewhen responded to and created by the people posting to this topic. Just FYI.
