The quickest way I have ever heard of is using a form of elephant tranqlizer -- its type is so quick, you wouldn't even feel the prick of the needle and you'd be dead -- not 'maybe dead' but no coming back dead.
So technically, you'd be dead before you know it
Dunno about gun to the temple, a neighbor *years back: elderly guy who'd lost his wife the year before* put a .38 snubnose to his temple and only managed to blow his eyes out and scramble his brains...his family kept him on life support for like 4-5 months before the body mercifully just gave up. Maybe like a .45 just behind the ear...
I say shotgun, triple aught buckshot under the chin, angled toward back of the head, taking out spinal cord and brain stem...insta-kill, but damn messy, might want to lay out some drop-cloth LOL
Sleeping Pills are more a cry for help, an ex-gf tried that once, actually several times with darvacetts (sp?) but she just ended up with a really bad headache.
Of course, shooting up with a very large amount of a very pure illegal substance (opiates).....painless and and peaceful, IMHO thats the best type of route...."shoot and score the lights go dim..."
Decapitation of the head is pretty quick. You just gotta get hit from behind, without knowing it. Nice quick, clean cut, and it'll feel like a mosquito bite.
From what I understand drowning is supposed to be the most painful way to die, though I'm not exactly sure how one would test that theory........

Drowning is probably my biggest fear of death. Not being able to breathe just scares the piss out of me.

I'm too horrified of falling off high hights. I'm afraid of hights anyways, and just watching that stuff a year ago scared the piss outta me.
Oooo, now the shotgun idea works well. Kid got his head blown clean off br a shotgun a few doors down from me. They scrubbed the wals for a whole day to get rid of the stains (like 6 guys).Quote:

About the elderly gentleman? Mr. Taylor?, this was a few years back, his wife had wasted away due to cancer..he was in his 80's and well, with his wife of many many years gone, we all guess he just gave up. *They were always nice to us neighborhood kids* I could go further into the story, but, I dont like to think about it...the thought of outliving everyone I love....
As to my former gf, she had a "break" with reality, but she had an ah..forcible intervention, after that, counseling, and the proper meds, she's worlds better :)
I DO think, that a opiate overdose would be the quietest, best way to slip away....
