I've got a can of stuff that isn't pepper spray. It's the stuff they give to the BATF and creates a fog (it hangs in the air). The instructor (who passed it out) recommended we try it. I sprayed it outside by tapping (tapping) on the trigger. The minor breeze brought it back into my face and I caughed for an hour. I only caught a whif but it royally F'd me up quick. It would be a pretty ugly picture on TV if all the cops were standing around gagging and coughing.

The way i see it is if you want to protest fine, but dont fsck sh!t up for everyone else. If they want to be all big and bad and block roads, police should have the right to show them how big and bad they can be with some fscking pain.

Perhaps the definition of a Hippie should be "The origional Non-Lethal Weapon" :D

Honestly, I belive in our constitution but I am not blind to the fact that we have created weapons that coud not have been for seen. I think automatic weapons should go. I see nothing wrong with hunting weapons and personal handguns.

The idea that guns are the problem and ignoring the real problem of gun education and morals inbedded by parents is really at heart of the issue. But I guess the easy route is to blame the tool and not the tool user

Okay, I'll preface this by saying there certainly are a lot of idiots who join mass protests.

However, the cops are no innocent bystanders either.

There is a very common tactic used by anti-protestor forces. They are called "provocateurs". They are police, or people supplied by whoever the protest is against, who dress up like protesters and do things like throw bottles, smash stuff, try to rile up crowds, and generally antagonize police and innocent bystanders. This allows the cops to point at these people as "examples" of what the protesters are doing, and justifies police brutality in controlling the otherwise peaceful members of the protest.

When you look at the independent media and see some of the things that are done, you realize that both sides of the fence have noses that are not clean. In Italy during the G8 protests, "cops" wearing grey T-shirts spray painted POLICE and black helmets raided a school being used as a medical aid station and media HQ and attacked dozens of SLEEPING people with nightsticks, putting many of them into the hospital, breaking bones and splattering blood all over the place, smashing computers, etc... these were people who weren't obstructing anybody, weren't chanting, many of them weren't even involved with the protest outside...

You can shoot down the more extreme protesters all you like, that's a part of democracy, and you'd usually be right in criticizing them. But you are an idiot if you think they are the source of ALL of the trouble at protests.

I know what you are talking about and I have to say that you are right about half the time. I have watch what you are talking about to discredit a peace movement. The idea that police enrage peace movements just to beat the crap out of them is down right silly and ,to my knowledge, has never had evidence from a creditable source to prove your point Clambo
