Don't worry we at wotpp sometimes have to rely on that well known windrivers condition - 'failure to read earlier posts properly syndrome' to cover our tracks, just post pad lots & any slip ups get lost in the mayhem ;)Quote:

Yeah. Gazzak? What's with this offside rule? Enlighten me.
Offside is when a player in the oppositions half has no other player in front of him other than the goalkeeper when the ball is passed to him. However, a player is NOT offside if he is not interfering with play in any way (ie is running back to his own half to be in an on side position).
Thats how I've always understood it anyway.
And, you're a Scot, so does that mean you must root against England no matter who they play?https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

I will be very happy about the draw between England and France, as both play tentative and "scared" of screwing up in such an important and great matchup it should have been for the title. 1-1
Croatia 3 Switzerland 0 (No contest)
PS
Offsides: let us hope the refs do get it right. Geesh, replays make them look really bad at times, except unlike American Football, there is no overturning of the ruling.
The offside rule is where the linesman raises his flag for no reason other than to get himself on the telly!
-Ed, where's your prediction for matches 3 & 4 or have I missed it again?
Ok. Now that makes sense. :thumbs:Quote:

Not at all; just makes sense that I would support France and not England on this occasion. Lived in Scotland two-thirds of my life and France for one-third. Never in England. It is logical really.Quote:

And as for that off-side thing, even reading an explanation of it hurts. Give me rugby any day, the rules are so much more complicated and no one really understands them but the violence is great. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
