Well he warmed up to us last night after we got home. We had him purring non stop and even rubbing up against and climbing on us.
I was quite happy to discover that he is already litter box trained as well. We left the door to the bathroom open last night (his room for now) and blocked off the hallway to the rest of the house with a baby gate. He went on a little adventure this morning and explored our bedroom around 4AM. He is even becomming vocal now. According to the wife (light sleeper) he was mewing most of the night.
This morning when I went to check on him, he jumped out of his hiding spot and immediatly starting purring as he walked over to me for a good rubbing. He even offered up his belly for a little rub and streched out his legs and toes so that I could clean off the litter clumped in his fur (when the brother-in-law came to check on him he freaked out and hopped in the tub which was still wet) which really amazed me. I don't know much about cats, but I really hope this is a sign that he will be very affectionate and trusting.
And no, he will not be pimped out, unless I can find a mini fedora for him with a little elastic band to strap under his chin.
Bastard, I come away with bloody hand if I go for her belly
Congrats, sounds like you are going to have a good one. Just make sure to give him plenty to keep him occupied, while keeping all strings away when you are not around.
Wife is a light sleeper, hehehhe, she will learn.
Glad to hear things are working out for you all. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
All my cats (only 3 left now) respond to me when I call out to them by name or whisper "hey" to let them know my displeasure at whatever it is they're doing (fishing out of the garbage can, sleeping on my bed, meowing like mad at 4AM, etc.)
They might act aloof and independent, or even timid and scared, but they do conduct themselves well socially also.
They know where the food comes from. :D
