Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM) doesnt work on XP!!

Hi forum world

My upgrade to XP from Me was cumbersome to say the least. Have now tried all the fixes that have been posted on these forums(including uninstalling the drivers and letting XP re-intall them) I now have version 5.2.6366.0
Guess what? Still no sound.
The sound card is that world famous Creative AudioPCI(ES1371,ES1373)(WDM) and I know one day my sound will be back. My Gateway machine details are:

Well I no longer am working in silence. (Currently playing - Andy Kershaw)Here is what I did in essence...briefly..

Uninstalled all the audio drivers*

Went to Everest to get my system hardware report*

Figured my sound card was Soundblaster PCI 128 aka Ensoniq ES1371

Downloaded a driver from the Creative website...rebooted...voila.

I'm having problems with my audio as well. It plays most sounds but there are some files it can't play. It has it's drives not installed and that is obviously the problem.

My system:

and enter motherboard, socket A(462), and A7V8X-X and you'll get your downloads page.

I would suggest you make 2 new folders - c:\Chipset and C:\Audio and download the respective drivers to those folders.

Then run the chipset and then the audio.

Err, which of the billions of files do I download?

Do this first:

Download and run Everest Home (it is free):

Once you download it, click on it and let it install and then run it from the icon on your desktop and then click on 'Computer' then on 'Summary', then go to the VERY top of the screen and click on 'report', then 'quick report-summary' and then 'plain text' and save it then go to C:/programs/lavalys and open that folder then open Everest Home sub-folder and then reports sub-folder and click on the report.

This will open it in a text editor (probably Notepad) and then use your mouse to highlight ALL the debug stuff at the bottom of the report and delete it and then save that file again and then copy and paste it to here.

Hello~

First off, I have NO idea how this happend; nor do I know how to solve it.. So here I am. Basically what happend was, I was installing a new version of Windows XP, and everything went smoothly (or so I thought.) And then, I notice that my sound begun to show signs of error.. Whenever some stress was put on the cpu it began to make small static/crunchy (Sorry, but that's the best explanation I can give.. lol) noises. Before my soundcard/speakers/pc never had this problem. Has anyone had similiar experiences? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Here's some info about my pc that may or maynot help.

Is this onboard sound or a separate sound card?
Which Hewlett Packard model computer have you got?
Have you been to Hewlett Packard for drivers or did you using the original driver CD?
Have you done all your windows updates including service pack 2?

I can't hear any sounds after i rebooted windows xp. I got Creative SB PCI128 (CT4751) Sound CardPCI
